I am a FFXI returnee, played for about a decade. I am now a full time worker with a child that I need to watch, so I don't have the time I use to but I still get a nostalgic feel of the game. I have a couple questions I wasn't seeing full answers for if anyone can help?

1. The OWNM's, I kind of understand but at the same time not fully. I just didn't see anything about them, so if someone could give me a small explanation or point my way to another Topic on it, I would appreciate that.

2. Teleporting. Some people were talking about Chocobo Circuit teleports? But everytime I go to Sandy Chocobo Circuit, the door doesn't even move. Or any other kind of fast traveling would be helpful.

3. NM's. Are NM's still the same? Like same spawn rate and drop rate for things like Leaping Boots, Hairpin, all the normal early nm's like shield beetle and Mp recovered wand and what not?

4. Experience. Like I was saying before, I really don't get too much time anymore to game, so I was wondering if there was a way to get more experience? I see the rings aren't working, which is weird because I have been using them for as long as I can remember on FFXI. Just really would like to speed up things even a tiny bit.

2. Teleporting: This was been removed long ago. You used to be able to go between the main cities using the choco circuit.

3. Yes. All NMs drop the non R/Ex versions of gear, too.

4. Nope. Sorry. A lot of players are in your same situation, being older now than they were in retail. You don't have to be 75 in a month, or even a year, to have fun.

it is easier to solo here on nasomi , u get more xp for ep's then used to on retail during this era , also mobs stay ep for longer.

also what nab said , its not a race. level at your pace. i know a few people who have been playing as long as me and dont have a 75.(almost 2 years)

Many of us returning players share much of the same. I too have children, work, and a life. Its play at your own pace as stated. We are here for fun and nostalgia. :D

One thing I've noticed is people on this server tend to have more patience. I know it's just anecdotal, but perhaps it's because most people playing are older than the average MMO player. Waiting for someone to choco from Sandy to Jeuno for a Qufim party because they don't have the OP was unheard of back in retail - people would kick and rep them with someone closer. Then again, I've only been playing here for a short while now, but it's what I've noticed.

One of the most obvious changes you'll soon realize is that people from the outset are more aware of quick travel methods and prioritizing getting around. Things like instant warp scrolls and outposting are way, way more common than they were in 2004-2005. You would be shocked at the incredible amount of knowledge you can find on basically any topic that will help you be efficient and get stuff done even purely solo.

Incorrect. Roc drops Dryad Staff

details details. the important low level farmed NMs all drop non ex.
