Hi folks, im a returning player, but new to the server. My friend and I (she is a new to videogames all together) began playing and although I have much game knowledge, I am struggling to come up with a game plan for the two of us and am looking for advice on whether to stay in Windurst and level up a few jobs before moving to Valkrum, or hit level 10 and keep moving. Pros of leveling a couple jobs: beginning quests can make some easy money, like teachers pet and crawler curler (though we both have a job at 8 and have both made about 1000 gil this way), this could potentially also make enough for us to afford armor as well. Cons: 1-10 sucks butt, and isnt exactly fun. Pros to going to valkrum: see more of Vana'diel, unlock subjobs (which speeds up leveling low jobs considerably) Cons: may not/currently dont have enough money for spells and armor for levels 10-20 Ive read money making guides and imo, besides the quests, some of the advice is meh. I dont like undercutting AH prices because why would you logically do that. Also im trying to save most of the items i can for crafting. Any advice would be appreciated, but please give me a reason why. Having typed it out, the first option sounds more reasonable but feedback would be appreciated. thank you |

Do not go to the dunes at 10. Wait until 12 at the earliest. |

Your dunes career will consist primarily of lizards and the levels of them are slightly altered. You will not ne getting any invites until 12, and even then you will have a hard time getting an invite until 14. |

The boat works. It's just buggy sometimes (can't board, mobs aggro through the floor). No, bubu is very rarely used. |

Cool. I appreciate your feedback, since it seems to be best to get to level 12 (minimum), I guess I'll grind out a couple level 12s with my friend for beginner gil |

mining is your friend, as well as, fishing. 3 of my buddies and i were mining a lot when we first started and it paid for pretty much everything. Invest in some axes, mine, buy some mining gear because it makes a huge difference in pickaxes needed, then mine some more. before you do that mining , you may want to grind to 30. with level sync, chances are youll hit 30 before ever leaving qufim / dunes. DPS jobs are the fastest to level since most ppl want a two handed dps or a MNK. A warrior with a great axe is a tank + a dps, so if you want to hit 30 fast id go with that. then you can unlock ranger and widescan for mining nodes. if its just 2 of you, it goes much faster. edit: to add onto it, you want classes that work well together. after you hit 30 warrior's , that is pretty much a sub for almost any class. one of you can do BARD and the other can do a weaker class to go with it, like WHM or BLM. But i'd always do your best to pair up with One strong class and one useful but weak class. Also, if mining works out, level up WHM or RDM to 20/25 for sneak / invis and you can comfortably do ifrit mining parties and make about 50k+ an hour. If crafters hit you up to buy ores before they hit AH, it means theyre probably worth more than whatever they want to pay, so id stick with the AH. and last bit of advice is get all your outposts as soon as they become available. worst part of this shit game is getting around. |
