| Post subject: | Blue mage subjob? |
Hey all, new player here. I haven't played FF11 since 2009, and I was obsessed with BLU back then and I'm looking to relive some of that. What is the best subjob for BLU, what job should I start lvling from 1? I don't know the meta, or even what build of FF11 this is other than the level cap being 75. |

I know there are multiple you should have but I can definitely say NIN for sure. |

WHM is common for the early levels. I used /WAR to easily melee stuff down early on. At 20+ you'll probably want /NIN for Dual Wield and Utsusemi a few levels later. You can level whatever job first. As far as exp parties are concerned BLU/NIN is good at lower levels, 30+ you can start using BLU/THF and that's probably your best bet when you start getting higher and have access to spells like Sickle Slash and Death Scissors. You can also do BLU/WHM and heal, I did that most of the time, though you hit a bit of a rough patch in the late 40's/early 50's until you get Magic Fruit. |

Before level 30 it doesn't strictly matter; you can use NIN for dual wield/shadows, WAR for provoke, MNK for boost etc etc. When you get to level 30 THF is godlike for sneak attack on your physical spells, or WAR for Berserk. |

I would Level either THF or WHM first. I found that THF was best because everyone needs a THF for farming regardless of what class you choose. Also IMPORTANT NOTE: BLU Maat fight doesn't work. So you can only level to 70 if BLU will be your highest job. You will have to level a DIFFERENT job to 75 to beat maat so that you can level BLU to 75. |

I'd set blu aside till you have a 75job, particularly a job that can merit sword. You can't break 70 limit on blu so you need another job at least 66+. Theres also getting spells/gear from toau areas which is best done when you have some friends. In terms of blu subs, you are going to want to have thf nin whm blm rdm subs for endgame blu. Only need /nin and /thf really for exp, /war is cool till 20/30 but pretty useless after that, attack does nothing for spell dmg. /whm in exp was from a dark time in blu history that we need not relive. Of course you are entirely free to do exactly whatever you want, especially on blu, which is the beautiful thing about the job |

I enjoyed it a lot, its another role BLU can fill if the party doesn't need more DD and you don't need any merits or TOAU spells to use it at higher levels effectively.
