I very rarely am geared up on my WHM since I level other stuff and only bust it out for end game stuff or when someone needs it. Therefore, I am usually when running errands on it via teles with /BLM wearing odds and ends gear. Whatever is in my inventory. Some guy walked by me today while I was running OPs with my alt and just tells me "You have the shittest gear I've ever seen" Complaining about me wearing a Seer's Set (something I had in my inventory from another job) and other misc crap


It was followed my other insults without me replying and then followed by "go farm, you're a disgrace"

Come on guys, let's be nice to each other. Or at least ask. If you're EXPIng, that's one thing. Running through town doing errands, leave people alone.

PPS: Even in an EXP scenario, let's at least try and be constructive.

Wow that sounds like a terrible person.

When I'm out and about, I either wear event gear (in very few slots, to maximize inventory) or nothing at all. It may help that I've got a big M and a Chatoyant staff that no one has acted that way towards me. Carrying at least a nice staff with you may help if you're running around on WHM.

Where do you guys find these people? FFXI has always been friendly to me oO. Anyway I don't see what's point in saying someone has terrible gear when they're teleporting, in town, walking somewhere or doing something not difficult. Sometimes people are not bothered to get gear from multiple locations or alts and time saved from moving gear is lost and then some for looking for said gear.

I guess I can understand if they show up with terrible gear in party (past 40s) or some sort of mission bcnm.

Wanna know the real reason why people are dicks like that? It's cus there isn't anything else to do on the server. They are bored and don't even know it, so their minds create conflict and mistake it for fun.

If it's not someone that can affect you in any way (e.g. party member) then it's not your hecking business.
Also having the best gear for every subjob you have is nearly impossible.

I've not had this experience with someone harassing me, but I'm constantly running around on different jobs in gear that makes no sense because of the way the game leaves certain gear pieces equipped when you change jobs. If I've just been killing stuff on BST and swap to SMN to start LFG, I often don't get my SMN gear out of mog unless a PT comes along so I can more easily get back to farming or helping LS members with something while LFG. So I'll be running around town in snipers and a PCC and such on SMN.
