Has there been any update/progress on this topic? viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3906&p=14832&hilit=PVP#p14832 I know alot of the community is split in half if PVP is a good or bad thing, but I am a PVP-holic. The only thing that's been keeping me from diving in full time into this game is lack of PVP. When I saw this announcement, I nearly pee'd my pants. For me PVP is important because I want something to work to. When I get to end game, I dont just wanna stand around and show off my weapons and kills to people. PVP is everlasting content for me. You don't have to remind me that PVP is not wanted for some of you, so please spare me. I can appreciate people do not want PVP anywhere near them when they are trying to level and such. I agree. I say keep the PVP in a area or map that is completely optional. I enjoy how Elder Scrolls Online did it, in one map that you can just walk around. There was nothing in there you needed except epic sieges and killing. Anyway. I went off on a rant, my question is...has there been any progress? PS: If this system is ever finished, what would it be like? The dev in that post didnt elaborate much. Is it just duels? open area pvp? nation based teams? I think it'd be really neato if you could participate in a team scenario where you killed each other to gain more for your nation's conquest points! Even though that is probably waaay beyond the scope of what the dev may have in mind. Personally I'd be a happy camper with ANY PVP rather than none. |

This is what I used my Q&A on. It was open area, had it's own zone (just a flat world, nothing special), just like the post suggests, it was FFA with no balancing done. It was a place for some people to delude themselves into thinking they're good even though zero balancing was done, but the best part was being able to test things thoroughly. It was very buggy, but it got the job done. Hopefully we get it back soon, because there's still tons of things to test. |

I believe Nas has mentionned a couple times on IRC that his long term plan is to open a side server where pvp would be enabled everywhere outside cities. It was a good place to test some things that were suspicious, like broken threnodies, and get them fixed but it was very broken, everything was allowed and some had unexpected effect like BST basically disabling players with Charm

BLMs killing themselves with nukes was hilarious though. Also being able to D2 enemies

Was buggy and silly but a lot of fun. We can all use some free for all time I think. Even had some cross endgame shell bonding. |

Short lived, but it was a ton of fun while it was active. We had a couple awesome LS vs LS battles. I'd love to see that zone come back, just for something different to mess around with. |

Yes maybe who knows probably eventually someday perhaps. 15 years from now, we'll all happen back upon this server and realize that he's finally implemented TOaU and PVP.... and that OWNMs still somehow crash zones. |
