For the lazy ones who don't want to search here's the link: viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1062 PUP is in a very sad and pretty much unplayable state right now, with no attachments working especially. Would absolutely love to see this getting fixed, but there are other more broad impacting bugs that Nasomi is fixing first. PUP is my favorite job and its sad that one job is pretty much unplayable while cor/blu have been getting fixes, but we can't argue with Nasomi nor do we know his plan, so we can just voice our concerns and wait. |

I imagine the jobs that have been code, but coded poorly were priorities to fix because there was some stuff way too strong within them. Pup being basically uncoded entirely just made it so ppl didnt play it, even then the automaton was pretty strong and could be fully skilled up as a lvl75 with lvl1 sup pup. I'd assume once bst gets toned down well see a pup overhaul. Sorry this was really just intended as a light hearted joke post after the heavy bst thread |

At this point it is so broken that just one small fix every now and then would be okay until Nasomi gets time to focus on completing the job imo. I would love for the job to really work properly, but I would be elated if I just saw my PUP use WS, or the ranged auto auto attacking with ranged attacks. I get that making it all work is a lot of work, but is making some of the more basic features working really that time consuming and difficult (genuine question)? Maneuvers and attachments and magic are all things I want (especially healing for some cool solo play) but until then, I wish he would just throw us a christmas bone or something. The melee auto (since it is the only auto worth using) using WS? I dunno, there is a lot to choose from and I am pretty sure many PUPs would happy for anything. Expect nothing till a big overhaul, it's not 100% but i would be surprised if he did small adds to pup as opposed to a full overhaul like he did with blu and smn. He did indirectly nerf blu a few times before the overhaul with some really rough m.acc changes, so who knows. |

I mean anything is possible at this point. Although I think the Q&A will be essentially be left with soon answers and little insight into his development process. The server growth is undeniable and Nasomi has finally said that ToAU will happen, just not yet is a massive step. Which means fixing the most broken job in the game will most likely come before that. Even if it is just minor fixes little by little. Honestly I would be happy just to have some of the attachments working as the frames mostly do (can unlock them at least). |

PUP seems complicated and has so many borked things atm so if we have to wait for almost everything to be ready it feels like it won't come in a very long time. I could be wrong of course, but small tweaks would go a long way imo. This is the last job that basically isn't working at all, I do think it should be a priority, but maybe it is just because I happen to like the specific job. Out of curiosity, if you guys could choose just one frame that works, which one would you pick? Like if we got one frame fixed at a time, which one would you want to come first? For me I would pick the healing automaton. I want to be able to solo well with eva gear and try to push PUP solos to see what they can do. Not for exp, but real difficult NM solos. Second would be RNG or BLM automaton. Realistically though I feel like the melee automaton would be the easiest to get working properly and I'd be glad just to be able to SC with my automaton at this point. I would love to see SC on the melee/rng automation first, just since this opens up the lower lvls to be really fun for PUP. I really miss soloing Wings of Fury with the melee automation with a Turbo Charger and Stoneskin attachments. I used the rng auto most often in retail just the beat things down quick when NM hunting or jsut running around. Next would be whm for soloing and I've even seen it solo heal parties in retail on a well geared PUP. There's a ton to fix and is the most complicated job from a development perspective. It comes down to what is the minimal amount that needs fixed for PUP to viable just to level efficiently and feel playable. Which I think is SC and just some base attachments, like the ones you can just buy from the vendor in Nashmau. I would be happy with that and just waiting for the later fixes and enhancements to get PUP back to its full glory. |
