Post subject:  BCNM40 Royall Jelly

Just tried this bcnm and it is NOT like retail.

Capped enfeeble with +13 MND and binds/gravs were not sticking and seamed like piercing was getting resisted. Mobs also seemed to spam spells more often and maybe even move a little faster.

Has this always been the case? Why does it seem so different? It used to be one of the easiest on retail

I see your problem. Bind and gravity are int based

Had no problems doing it. SAM/DRG/RDM. ~+15 int and almost every bind/gravity lands.

For reference, my 40 cap gear on rdm has +26. My blm gear has more than that. I still get some resists.

Yes, things do use abilities more often here, and those abilities usually hit harder.

I doubt things will ever be completely retail accurate. That isn't a knock on Nas, but it isn't like SquareEnix just passed out copies of the backend code to host private servers with cause they were done with it. The game has to be reverse engineered. Mainly from memories of people who played it, because FFXI wasn't exactly a popular thing to stream/record and upload video of and half the sites containing in depth theory craft on damage formulas and what not have been yoinked down, repurposed/dedicated to other games, or threads buried under a decade and a half of game updates.
