Post subject:  Installation Issue - Stuck on Enabling Directplay?
Hello! I'm a new player to this game, 15 years late, and I'm trying to play with my friend. However, through the installation process, everything goes smoothly until it gets to a function called Enabling DirectPlay. It installs partially and then is stuck in the same position indefinitely. I've tried reinstalling and I still get the same issue? Any help that can given would be great!

Hey! So I let it try to install overnight where it was stuck on Enabling DirectPlay. When I woke up, it was stuck at the exact same position that it was. I don't think it's supposed to take that long lol.

I don't know what to do now :(

Did you ever get it to work? I am struggling with the same issue.

check control panel, programs and features, "Turn WIndows features on or off, Legacy Components, and ensure DIrect Play is checked. Worth a shot, maybe that'll help.

This was actually missing in my windows version. I must have had a wonky update , months ago. I have since patched windows and manually upgraded to 1809 (the newest version) and the window referenced above was present. I was able to activate the legacy content and was in game within 5-10 minutes following.
