Post subject:  End Game - Sky/Limbus/HNM/Dynamis
Hello, I'm a returning player (played retail for 8 years) and I am curious what jobs are in demand on this server for endgame. I think I plan on having BRD leveled on one alt. But I would like DPS leveled on another. I was thinking THF SAM or DRK. I enjoy playing any of those classes but I would prefer to level one that linkshells consider in demand. Let me know your thoughts. It would also be interesting to hear if most shells shy away from melee DPS use in endgame. I am curious what the current "metas" may be.

Sam is the fastest to level, drk isnt bad, thfs are a dime a dozen. None of these are particularly in demand for end game. Blms, smns, blus, tanks, supports are generally what are in demand end game, with veteran LS members getting to fill the handful of coveted melee positions at any given time. But hey, you can always get lucky or forge your own path, just saying the general trend.

THF is quite difficult to get to 75 because it's not that great in PTs and here are soooo many of them.

Seems every veteran player has lvl75 DRK and INSANE gear on them...so leveling yet another DRK won't help anyone. I'd say RDM is also super common.

I'm personally lvling Bard and War first to 75... and once War is 75, I'm taking BLM to 75 so I'll I can have both BRD and BLM ready for the insta-invites :D

I think you saying you wanna start out with BRD is the right mentality, and you can adjust however you'd like. Corsair is pretty much instant-invite for parties also and super easy albiet expensive to get to lvl75

i took brd from 21 to 75 in 11 days while working full time. it's easy if you are willing to put the time in.

Oh hell yea.. BRD is super quick. I took it to 65 super quick but then the repetition of pulling got to me and I needed a month break from BRD lol... it's fun for the first hour or so...but the need for constant concentration and undivided attention burns me out quick.. whereas on a melee job I can half pay attention for many hours no problem while doing something else to entertain me, like watching or listening to something.

Can't stop moving long enough to blow ur nose as brd in exp nowadays.... Burned myself out on a 2 day binge 39-60, probably saving the brd for friends pts for 60-75.

BLM is difficult to exp after level 50, and rightfully so, got to pick up the solo exp or manaburn or possibly duo/trio a bit to hit 75 it seems. The Lv.40 capped exp from pso'xja may even be good for a couple blms needing some quick exp. DRK is pretty good, just make sure you get the wiffs under control, SAM is excellent exp, parties enjoy polearm and penta for birds. May want to have /nin leveld for DRK or SAM cause "some" of the tanks haven't got the equipsets to keep you alive if you're /war, THF isn't terrible but there's just soooo many lfp....

Lets not discount drg. I've out-dps'ed all but the best sams in merit parties, and it's so much fun to play.

wanted for endgame BLM , BRD , RDM (is common to see ? yeah , but tons of casuals have rdm at 75 ) , SMN ....mages as usual. Melees are a dime dozen , plus tons of them are geared to the teeth.

IF U WANT TO DO ENDGAME: go blm for dmg or brd if u like support

a fresh sam , drk , isnt going to get any spots for endgame , no geared and melee spots are covered by the well geared players.

I picked BRD for this reason. Then, as I got higher I really started to enjoy it. A lot. I also agree with Mellow, though. After a 3 or 4 hour party my brain feels like Jello. Especially when the DPS is good to great.

I did BRD 1-75, including all the quests/AF/farming to get to my first 75, in about 3 weeks while working full time and having a family.

I didn't check actual playtime.
