What's the rationale for not allowing parsing plugins/addons? It's a valuable tool for the player base and doesn't break the immersion of the game that Nas cares so deeply about. EDIT: Also will be useful for proving to Nas with hard evidence that one of his updates has broken something like Macc or something ![]() |

Easy answer. To not make a level 60 SAM with a 34 great katana cry with his royal footman gloves. Cyber Bullying kills people. Be Polite y'all! |

Just make an option in the parser that, when toggled, fuels said players blissful ignorance of their contribution to the party by automagically placing that 60 SAM right at the top of the parse! No more tears, no more fears. |

Shit is going to happen regardless of parsers being allowed or not tbh. Doesn't take a parser to see Johnny Gimpgear with his under leveled weapon and level 15 armor @ level 65 is holding back everyone in his party. |

Im gonna level an alt named Johnny Gimpgear and deck him out with the best gear ever just because of this sir. |

Bullying is part of it, but another part is keeping people from establishing extremely firm metas with data. He doesnt want the forums covered in proof that thfs are 66% as effective as a drk who is 66% effect as a sam. Trash jobs are obviously still going to get left out, a lot, but it wont be proven on every other thread by parses. |

I think the main benefit from them to me would be being able to easily produce a large enough sample size of tests/data to help find bugs or inaccuracies that can be fixed and ultimately improve the server. To me this is worth the trade off in maybe a slight increase in toxicity that will already exist anyway, but tbh I can't imagine it actually changing anything much on that front. I can see your argument though. |

I can see your argument though. I get your thought process behind this, but the majority of this would be used in EXP parties, which would create toxicity. People who do endgame know what brings the most DMG to events, hence what jobs endgamers recruit, if that makes sense. I'd love for a meripo parse, sure? But then again, you know when you see the gear. |

I would love to be able to parse, I love testing things, particularly BLU things which can get really tricky. I understand both ends of it for sure. I wish that people could accept that they're gimpy and just ungimp instead of getting mad at getting called out. GO MAKE HOLY BOLTS NOW, new hot market, make dat paper and get those nq snipers plz. |

For me it's just getting more value out of the content we do day in and day out. Friendly competition is mainly why I'd like to have parsers for FFXI, but maybe thats just from too many years of chasing logs in FFXIV. |
