Hi, Is it better for us to keep gear at the same (or less) level at the Level sync in a XP party? For example, my Lv. 48 War/Nin has Life Belt and 2 x viking axes in a Level 46 Synced party. Would keeping the setup gimp me on Nasomi? I always carry Lower level gear, primarily weapons, just in case. Let's take the same example in a Level 41 party. +30 ACCR might seem like overkill for a Lv. 41 party so how is this calculated? Thoughts? I hear mixed things between LS mates and xp parties. It's generally a good idea to keep gear lv 40 or close to it even if it's just for BCNM, OWNM, another job or even lv cap missions. Just keep them in a separate area of your MH. |

You can use /checkparam <me> to see how much of that ACC you retain under sync. |

Need a Level 75 buddy with a lot of gear options, and a Level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 player (or someone with all of those jobs). Do /checkparam <me> before at all points, using the same gear. Have the 75 buddy with lots of gear sync to Level 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and do /checkparam each time you sync. Plot the ACC values in excel for each. Try on different pieces of gear to get a few different curves. Or create a curve for each piece of gear. I of course don't have the time or resources to do this, but it would go a long way in uncovering exactly how sync works and how you could min max for BCNMs or whatever. Sure, it's easy enough to have a full set for your RDM doing UO. But when you want to have multiple jobs ready for multiple different purposes, it would help to know how sync works to avoid all the wasted storage space. IE: If I can just bring my Life belt to all of my BCNMs (20, 30, 40, 50, 60, w/e), then I definitely want to get rid of my barbarian's belt, etc. |

Usually after a dozen or so levels, the gear is completely useless. You can probably do this test within a 10 or maybe 20 sync. Best would be to level sync someone at lvl75 with all different types of stats on, and record the values syncing down 1 lvl each time, 74, 73, 72, 71, 70, until you either get a pattern, or until the peices are giving 0 stats. Obviously, gear will only be effected once you start going down each individual piece's level requirement, so maybe do something like 70, 69, 68, 67 or whatever. And for lower syncs, you can go aggro OWNMs for 60, 50, etc.. The stats that survive the largest syncs are defense, HP, and MP since those are the largest values you encounter on gear. It's probably a mixture of flat and percentage reductions. |

At work so can't check , but for instance wearing mahatma body for 40 syncs (body/legs) is better then whatever else you can get in that slot for that lvl. For body I believe the best at 40 is mages robe+1 , gives 1 int . but iirc u get 2 from mahatma( prolly errant as well). Edit: I believe syncd weapons is always a bad idea like 90% of the time if not more. Try to have a lvl appropriate weapon |
