So some friends and I decided to try a Rostrum Pump farm last night and actually turned out quite successful. Strange setup but we ran it 75 Thf x 3, 75rdm, 75whm, 75sam, 67whm, 71blm. Dual boxing the 67whm blm rdm by the Thfs. First pop we began killing the executioner and it turned out to have quite a bit of hp and high def so it was looking to be incredibly difficult. We didn't get swarmed with adds thankfully but about the 3-4 add was Alistor so things got incredibly complicated.. at this point each thf had an Antlion. Amidst the confusion I decided to try hiding the executioner and it worked! Depopping it. The thf holding the feeler used hide, depopping the feeler also. So now we were left with just the Alistor and pretty easily fought our way to some pumps! We then devised a strategy to hide the adds til Alistor popped next time and here's what we found.. the executioners don't always depop after hide and tend to walk back to where the Feeler popped them. Fortunately they are non aggressive and will only link with the Feeler so it is advised to move the feeler further and further away from the pop location with each executioner. Once at the spot they popped the executioners depop.. be advised though sometimes when the feeler is moved back to that spot the executioner will pit ambush and pop back up. This happened only sometimes so we weren't really sure the exact conditions of this occurring. Repopping these ended up causing a lot of trouble, the thf up for hiding adds would have to grab multiple executions to depop making it quite hectic. None the less, we succeeded #2 and went on to pop Alastor on the first add for #3 & 4. So in conclusion, taking Thfs to hide depop adds makes this a trivial fight. I hope this helps anyone attempting to get Rostrum Pumps. Shout out to Verity, Ibtoken, Munny and Eggsy. Good times. |

If you want a different version of medium mode, you can just have someone zone the pops. Pull the spawned NM back to the cave area.... zone the pops until he pops the real one. But that's still medium mode. |

Eh well regardless we took a not so great setup and just pretty much winged it and discovered a much easier way to do it without any research so all in all, it was a lot of fun to figure it out ourselves. Good times with great people. It's what the game is all about and really brought back the old retail feel of trying something new with people you enjoy playing with and it all turning out good in the end. I got exactly what I came to Nasomi for and I couldn't be happier about it. |
