I was actually just being dumb right there. Auto-refresh is only 20 mp/minute, so in any situation where you net an average of 20 mp per minute or more from aspir /BLM will be better than /SMN for mp recovery regardless of mp consumption. That's not going to apply to many exp camps, but it is definitely worth considering.

Sorry for the semi-necropost... thought I'd add my 2 cents:

/WAR
Voke-tank (pairs well with THF main for duoing Charybdis, so THF can utilize SA+TA, for example)
Great zerk DPS, especially with Excalibur.
(With joyeuse only, situationally outshone by /drg, at least for DPS consistency)

/MNK
Boost for free enmity while PL'n

/WHM
Status cures, reraise, DS+vert, Teles

/BLM
Drain, Aspir, Conserve MP... Sleepga! (effective for solo ZM4 for example, MVP status oftentimes for dynamis) ES... WARP!

/THF
Farming, situational SATA... flee is nice for footwork-quests/missions

/PLD
Huge list.... Auto refresh, defense bonus, shield bash, sentinel (soooooo nice for convert), fast-casted flashes for tank-hate, undead killer (great for 5-1 for example), shield mastery for -spell interruption (and negligible TP). Such a nice all-terrain subjob! Comparable to /BLU, but /PLD is usually a lot more flexible (especially vs Dispel-heavy mobs like Cemetery Cherry)

/DRK
Chainspell stun, access to drain/aspir, attack bonus (great for farming Dancing Weapon type mobs for garliage coffer, etc)
Souleater/LR are good for pulling hate while PL'n too.

/BST
Amazing for solo EXP, farming

/BRD
AoE buffs (namely ballad)

/RNG
Sidewinder is arguably RDM's hardest-hitting 75 WS (unfortunately no great bows for RDM on nasomi). Amazing with Kraken Club. Widescan is nice.

/SAM
Farming Castle Zvahl coffer keys, good DPS vs fodder (lb2 etc) novelty otherwise

/NIN
Utsusemi!! Dual wielding (Mandau + Excal, anyone?). Great for farming with KC offhand (even outshines /dnc for undead, on applicable servers). Tanking HNM with hate spells

/DRG
Very fun fast-paced DD subjob! Usually outshone by /WAR (especially with relic) but is more-consistent DPS.

/SMN
Autorefesh, Aerial Armor

/BLU
Tanking hits from many monsters at once with Cocoon. Killer effects... Wild Oats is a great lowbie exp spell (when other de/buffs are covered) Situationally great for overwriting defense-down debuff

/COR
Great for EXP

/PUP
Broken last I checked on Nasomi. Amazing for OWNM, Royal Jelly, Elemental farming.

And though not on this server:

/DNC
Farming, aggressive melee solos, especially with KC. Multiple great weapon options for exping on pierce-weak monsters like colibri.

/SCH
Extremely aggressive nukability
Phalanxga, Stoneskinga (Fafhog support, etc)

I know many won't consider it a "great" bow, but I used a Lightning Bow +1 on retail for those times I wanted to screw around as /rng, and I'm fairly certain we have that available on Nasomi.

/SMN is also great to have at merit parties for Rolling Thunder. Also /COR for tossing in a gimpy Corsair’s or Chaos roll (cuz why not? especially useful if all your merit DDs are 2H weapons), or /BRD for ballad1 or a gimpy Madrigal/minuet. For most merit parties, you could literally have RDM nosub and be just fine, so go with whatever helps push that extra 10% damage/efficiency/fun

To expand on Armaddon's /COR comments...
For exp situations with a finite number of mobs (and a finite exp chain, such as Gustav Pygmatoise), I like to start the first few monsters with Corsair roll up, then I switch to Chaos roll for the remainder of the chain.

I figure:
-Easy to maintain chain at the beginning anyway
-Ensures highest chain # possible towards the end
-Keeps the monsters' repop-times "tight" (allowing for snack/drink breaks between chains) by starting with slower kills and ending with faster kills. "Tightening the lap" also allows for cleaner, more-easily attainable EXP chains.

In these sort of exp situations, I try to stay flexible when switching rolls. If the opening Corsairs roll is unlucky, might switch to Chaos after first kill or two. If the subsequent Chaos is unlucky, might even switch to Hunters for the remainder of the chain.

Hell, if the timing is right, could even risk a Bust here n' there.

Edit: I do that "lap-tightening" thing a lot (exp or otherwise). I'll even go as far as to hold-off killing the first repop or two, depending on the task at hand.
