Two runs in a row, petri was landing even when faced properly. This happened repeatedly. Didn't happen at all last night. What gives? Proof: https://imgur.com/a/hBtblzc |

I think you are confused. Hex eye is a paralyze gaze attack you can face away from. Breakga is a spell that is target centered aoe which will inflict the petrified status. You can resist breakga (by luck) but your facing will have no impact. |

There is a petrify gaze attack ("Petro Gaze"), but it should function correctly. At least it did last week. Breakga will hit you regardless. Make sure you're standing in a wide triangle with each member at least 15 yalms away from the other. Fight in the BC area, not on the ramp. What is your setup? This is probably the easiest BCNM in the game with the correct setup so that's the most important question, and it's 90% like retail with the only issue being the wall pathing that you mentioned. Just don't run TOO far ahead of Sobbing Eyes and that won't happen. I've done NIN/BLM, BLM/NIN and RDM/NIN or two NINs. But my fastest runs were THF/NIN, NIN/WAR and RDM/NIN (about 6 minutes for a clear). |

Your kiter/healer being dead is the issue here, not petrify. You should look into fixing why that happened. |

We were doing blu/nin nin/rdm rdm/whm. Kiter died because kept getting petri even through was faced the other way. I did this repeatedly on my blu the day before, and didn't have an issue with petri hitting like that. |

What is the main difference between this and NIN/RDM with fast cast and extra INT? Thanks! Back to the main issue. We were getting petrified way too often and I've never seen this before. I even watched countless Nas and retail videos where no one got petrified or it was not over 4 times in the same fight like what we experienced. |

Just wanted to add some info for strategy -- Setup: RNG/NIN, RNG/NIN, SMN/WHM (yes after RNG nerf, it works fine. Tried it last Sunday.) SMN Carbuncle pulls Sobbing Eyes and kites down ramp, RNGs pop barrage/sharpshoot, 1 RNG shadowbinds far right eye, then both RNG hits left eye with barrage. This brings down eye to about 30-40%. Whichever RNG has hate turns around and waits for the other RNG to grab hate, then they turn around and start shooting, repeat until both eyes are dead. SMN was able to come and Paralyna occasionally if someone was paralyzed but keeping up shadows was important due to drain hitting for 124 HP. Sobbing Eyes same strategy, definitely make sure you are far apart from each other so breakga doesn't hit the whole party. There was 1 time where we got super unlucky and it did breakga maybe 5 times in a row. In order to keep everyone alive, we stayed on top of pulling hate off of each other and kiting until petrify wore off. In short, a pretty easy BCNM for Rangers. |

We experienced 2 runs where it would cast Breakga over and over again, it was annoying but we were able to deal w/ it. TP move can be avoided by turning around, breakga you can't avoid it so everyone needs to stay apart from each other, I nicknamed it the triangle formation lol. |

I did UO 100% on NIN/WAR, mostly because I didn't have a leveled sub, but between myself, our RDM, and our BLU, we could burst the sobbing? eyes from 50%-0 in a headbutt stun with berserk/retsu, various blu spam and red mage nukes, I found it worked quite well. I also timed auto attacks in between casts for extra damage. I'd occasionally get paralyzed, but it was very rare. |

Proof: https://imgur.com/a/hBtblzc Don't stand so closely together, you need to spread out so breakga only hits 1 person and then you can keep DPSing with the other 2 people, or kite if you want to wait it out while the breakga wears off. RNGx2 shouldnt have problem with time, so just focus on staying alive and while it's attacking 1, keep the other RNG in the proper distance for max dmg. |
