I had a Bloodsword in retail (as you can see in my avatar), the HP Drain had super mega low proc rate and it didn't drain much to begin with (Wiki says up to 72 HP but I recall it draining more like 12-15 HP on farm mobs), so you aren't missing out; cool looking weapon, kinda underwhelming though.
Pretty sure Bloody sword was about the same.
Pretty much this. They weren't zomgwtfbbqpuppies amazing in retail. But here they're just a sword. In fact I can save you a ton of test time: 9/10 damage proc items I've tried here do literally nothing. I think certain key items work like Sirocco Kukri from Kreutzet, and random one offs like the Demonic Sword work. But most of the rest are borked. Skofnung did 0 light damage to any gigas during 3 hours of screwing around. Lockheart/Mythril Heart/ Balmung don't dispel. None of the bloody weapons I've laid hands on drain. None of the swords that are suppose to do light damage proc'd for light damage, same for the ones that should have a fire proc. At this point I evaluate them on a dmg/delay basis only and if the proc ever actually does anything I consider it a happy accident.
