Ah yes. Many AoEs, especially breaths have little to no Z axis. Using them on the top floor of Dyna Tav will often hit the mobs a level or two down |

If this is about the Diabolos fight for CoP I highly recommend everyone using poison potions, standing on the same tile, and mages using refresh drinks. Straight tank and DPS it down. |
