Hey guys, I've been having issues when dualboxing on two separate monitors where after awhile the client will just crash. Usually the 2nd client i open is the one crashing. I open my main on monitor 1 and alt on monitor 2 and just click back and forth. Anywhere from 2 min to 2 hours later it just randomly crashes. It crashes a lot faster the more often i click between screens.

I've seen people DB exp parties and crap and have zero issues and everyone I ask who db's say they do not have this issue; any suggestions? Thanks!

Edit: It also happens if i have work up on one monitor and the game on another monitor. If I switch too often or too fast or something then only the open client will crash. No issues with my work RDP session crashing.

Do you have switchmon?

I used to crash tabbing while using a PS4 controller. Swapping to xbox fixed it. They use different input methods, so probably an issue with dsinput (believe that's what PS4 uses).

Interesting, I do use a wired PS4 controller. I'll see if i can't use an xbox one and get it set up, button layout should stay the same yeah?

Hey Skittles, just wondering and also to whoever who might know. But I can't seem to get switchmon working on my Xbox controller or PC.

Is there like a guide on how to use it? what kind of settings I need? etc..

Thanks

I think you have to re-setup the button layout in the FF config if you switch, but it's not too difficult.

I had this problem for a long time using a knock off PS2 controller I bought at Gamestop just to play FFXI. The knock off controller recently started having hardware issues due to wear and tear so I bought a Dualshock PS3 controller that connects via Bluetooth and haven't had the issue since. I use switchmon so I can just press R1 to swap betweeen the two characters. So I am guessing it has to do with the type of controller you use.

Does switchmon negative the controller? Or do i still need to address my controller issue? I use the default PS4 controller, wired.
