Maybe someone out there has a better idea what's going on than me, I will be sharing this in other wine & xi relevant forums also for help. Used to have no problem logging in but now I have changed to a different linux distribution I have no luck.
Same hairpin Imm32 dll file I used when it worked. Tried other wine versions that worked for me before and also tried Lutris which worked before without Imm32 dll - it now fails to launch. This error log is from running in the terminal with wine-6.23:
Code:
WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-ffnasomi wine boot.exe --user *** --pass ***

edit: I have winecfg set to run as Windows 2003. The GUI never launches. It looks like it starts to but then crash.
edit: SOLVED! This was fixed by running the FFXI Game Config and changing settings for the first time, what an oversight. Specifically I changed fullscreen to "windowed without borders" <- (didn't matter) (mattered) -> and set the config for the three video dimensions all to the same size, 800x600, one didn't even have a value set! I am now able to log into the game with Lutris.
Also guys if you get stuck in a login loop just log into the website account from "Account" tab above and change the password to the character having a login loop - that fixed it for me. The wiki has a FAQ section about login loop and suggests you click a hyperlink to see what to do but there is no hyperlink, I know that's because it's not the original Nas wiki.
