Post subject:  Can't get Switch monitor to work properly anymore
First off, any help is highly appreciated! I actually stopped playing after a windows 10 update broke FFXI switch monitor sometime late last year. I have UAC off, and the switch monitor to run as admin by default. I also checked program and features to see if .netframeworks 2.0 was disabled or something but it wasn't. Honestly, this whole thing is a huge drag, and I truly miss being able to play again. If anyone has any help in the matter, I'd greatly appreciate it!
I noticed that if im in the actually switch monitor options via right clicking the icon on the task bar, and use the button I hot keyed to alt -tab, it'll work once only, but while I'm in game it stops working. Not sure if something is preventing it to work but I honestly can't figure out what.

Hoi, are you using SwitchMON with controller or keyboard?

Myself using Win 10 (home 64bit) witch switchmon, mapped previous and next window(ffxi) on Start / Select buttons on my controller. No problems at all.

I'm using a controller and have buttons "select" for previous, and "start" for next.

Hmm , then I realy dont know what is causing this. I also use 2x monitors. But its running fine on my laptop with w10 aswell..

Sounds like something might be wrong in ur "windows" .... Windows isnt like a bottle of wine. It dont get better over the years. Tried reinstall ?

Not yet, but I'm pretty sure you are right. I had reinstalled FFXI again hoping that would help, but it wasn't. I'll have to find some time to back up all my important stuff then reinstall windows. I appreciate it you trying to help though!

Could also be driver issue. B4 reinstall windows, try getting new (or roll back) on GPU drivers. DirectX might also play a little role here.. But im no expert. Its just "fun" to do search and test.

I actually ended up re installing windows but that didn't work either >< I didn't think to try and use a older driver and I ended up deleting all the files relating to FFXI out of frustration X.X (Finally given up)
My direct X is ver. 12, but I think that is standard for win 10. I did install GeForce experience but I didn't think that would cause issues, I may uninstall it and see if anything changes.
Let's hope the third times the charm >< I don't think I can play FFXI without duo boxing.. I got too used to it since the release of ToAU on retail.
Once again, thank you for giving me any help and support to this annoying problem! I'll let you know in a day how it turned out.

After another clean re install of windows, the problem still persists. I have given this too much time and effort but could not overcome the problem =\ People in Nas chat have suggested things I already have done (check if its running as admin / compatibility) and I just find this EXTREMELY frustrating that no one else has experienced this issue.
I've tried to map Xpadder but it just isn't the same and my brain can't get over how much more convenient switch monitor was.
I unfortunately have given up for the time being, and while it would have been great to be able to play again, It just probably wasn't meant to be. :(
