Does it really take this long? I usually download at 50mb/s.

On a good day, you're at the mercy of the update servers, and that's assuming you have a ssd.

Yep. This game got designed during dial-up days and that's pretty much as far as it was every developed. so... Welcome to the first lesson of FFxi club...no wait... that's a different lesson...Welcome to the second lesson of FFxi: ....what? oh...right... the first lesson...

Oh boy, been stuck at 65% for like 20 minutes trying to download music078.bgw

I take it if I cancel the operation, I'll have to start from the beginning again?

I restarted, doesn't seem like progress was reset, thank goodness.

Now I'm getting a POL-1160 error.

"Network is busy or there are connection problems. Please try again later or verify that cables, networking devices, and network settings are properly configured."

Now I'm sad.

That's SE's update servers. Just close and restart, fortunately it doesn't start over and picks up where it left off.
