Hello! New member (and soon to be new player, hoping!) Been reading the server rules wanted to make sure I wasn't committing any sort of violation playing behind a VPN on my network? Just wanted to get ahead of any red flags. > Not a static/ dedicated IP so I will be all over the place > Never had any issue using Steam and PSN > Port forwarding and uPnP are out of the question due to compromised network security Thank you

I dont think it will be a problem, and certainly no ports need be forwarded (unless you want to seed the nasomi torrent haha). That said, if you are caught / suspected on illegal activity, the wildly varying ip will be a notch against you, so be a good boy |

I played behind a VPN for a while, no issues. Ultimately I decided I didn't want to use the VPN for FFXI and since I use pfSense I am able to redirect all traffic going to a specific IP (in this case NAS servers) out the WAN while all other traffic still utilizes the VPN. Just remember if someone is on the same IP as you and them commit a Nasomi felony then you too could have your account banned. This is ultimately why I redirect NAS traffic, I don't want to take any chances. |
