| Post subject: | Stuck on "Setting up connection" |
Last time I played was around April of this year, and I want to start up again, but any time I log-in and hit Accept after the opening cinematic, the progress bar sits on "Setting up Connection" for a bit before giving me the error message FFXI-3113. Sometimes it instantly gives me a different error message, FFXI-3101. I've recycled my modem/router, restarted PC, and disabled firewall but to no avail. Internet connection is fine. Any help/advice? |

Got it to work, had to get the newest installer (currently v17). |

Could you explain how to get newest installer? Haven't played in 8 months and have the new installer downloaded but not sure where to put it? |

I'm in the same predicament. Played for a short time about a year ago and now when I launch the game I get stuck on "setting up connection". I've looked all over the folder I originally downloaded and I can't find installer.bat. Can you tell me specifically where the file is? |

After launching the Ashita client and successfully logging in, the FFXI game client launches. I press "Accept" in FFXI, and immediately the game flashes through a few load bars, and gets stuck on "Setting up connection." I created a character a year ago, but I'm not able to get to the part where I can select that character, or create a different character. |

It sounds to me like you need to download the newest installer like Vista mentioned near the top of the thread. I'd give that a try. |
