I have a friend who is trying to join server. He has downloaded and installed successfully. When he goes and hits the launcher, it asks him for screen resolution, and then to login. He has already created account. When he logs in the boot.exe windows shows the following: Successfully logged in Sending account id.. Hairpin fix applied Closing (in red text) The launcher then shuts down and he cannot start the game. He is running windows 7 64 bit and has shutdown all antivirus. Any guesses? Thanks in advance. |

Thank you for the link, and yes we had looked at it. He has a 32 bit version of windows, so he uninstalled the game, went to the installer and found the 64 bit reg file and edited as was suggested. Reinstalled and still the same issue ![]() Thank you for the help though. |

You didn't have to reinstall the game. Just ctrl+H the 64 bit registry file. Replace what needs to be replaced in ALL instances. Save. Run that file. It WILL work. 100%. If this doesn't, you didn't do it right. |

I seem to be having the same exact problem for Ashita. I have exhausted all my resources and have read the troubleshooting guide multiple times. The only way I have been able to briefly play is by running the boot.exe shortcut that was suggested to me earlier but that’s causing some terrible scaling issues in game for me. Everything else was running fine, so I went back around and poked with Ashira but to no avail. Still any other ideas by any chance? |

Did you try disabling scaling? I don't know what in ashita is causing issues for you. Are you sure you've tried running through ashita with and without fullscreen etc? |

Hello. I've been having the same problem and I'm on windows 7 64bits. I've went through the troubleshooting page over 3 times to make sure I had done everything right. Looking deeper, I've read I might have some more problem on a different language OS, which is the case. My windows is in french. Any hint on what I should do next? I've changed the path in the registery file, changed the resolution and tried nearly every one of them. I looked for the DirectPlay option, apparently it don't need to enable it on windows 7. Thanks a lot. Really looking forward to try Nasomi! ![]() |

I am having a similar issue, I get the hairpin fix the the red "closing" but it doesn't happen every time I try to start the game, it may happen when I first try to login in the morning, it may happen if I log out for a minute, i dont know its very random but if I restart my pc after I have this issue I can log in again and may not have the issue for a day or it may happen the next time I try to log in I made a second character and once I figure out how to dual box I had my main logged in and got the issue on my alt as login in and it closed both game windows I looked through the troubleshooting link you posted and the only thing I see that might be an issue is I have windows 10 64 and I can't find direct play in my system, when I search it shows me an online page for it but nothing listed in my pc |

you can adjust your directplay settings through the Windows Features. it is viewable under the legacy components checkbox. |
