| Post subject: | Game crashes after choosing to create new character |
^Subject. I click Create Character, and I get "Boot.exe has stopped working" and crashes. Tried multiple times, still the same. I'm uninstalling and reinstalling now so we'll see how that goes. Any clue why this would happne? |

Open the FFXI config and set "Simplified Character Creation". Char creating simply crashes for some people unless that's enabled. https://nasomi.com/wiki/index.php?title ... _character |

I'm trying to use a patch by Atom0s that fixes graphics card issues with laptops. FFXI uses DirectX8, and any computer that has 2 GPUs, it automatically defaults you to on-board GPU and you cannot change this without his patch. |
