I'm at a loss here... I've followed the guide on the wiki, and it seems that no matter what I do I can't get the game to launch at all. Here's where I get stuck:

Code:

 Failed to connect to server!
 Closing...

Every time I try. I've tried replacing the dll, and not replacing it. I've tried installing additional libraries. I've tried a few different fresh installs of wine. I have to assume it's just something silly I'm overlooking, but I can't figure out what. Any suggestions?

You need the new launcher from viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7977

I thought I had to skirt around the Ashita launcher with wine. I'll give that a shot and report back. Thanks.

edit: I see what I missed with the new boot.exe in the ffxi-bootmod directory. But, I'm getting the same message with an added:

Code:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I've only done a bit of googling with it so far, but I haven't come up with anything to point me in the direction of a fix yet.

edit 2: Progress! I reinstalled through PlayOnLinux under a different version of wine, and I've moved along to the boot loop. From what googling I managed to do yesterday, my problem appeared to be a memory issue with the staging version I was using. I rolled back to 4.1 today and it's looking promising.

I got it working through PlayOnLinux shortly after my last edit. The boot loop was fixed by replacing the imm32.dll.so file in the POL lib. I can't say 100% that the wine version is what was causing the issue, but being that it was a basic install through POL (no libraries, or config) I think it's a pretty safe assumption.

I experience zone crashing but not every time I zone... maybe 30-40% of the time especially at my MH

Really wish someone would find a solution for this zone crashing. I just hit level 75 yesterday and want to start doing endgame things. The crashing prevents me from progressing in missions and CoP

I Just returned to Nasomi after a hiatus, and I am also experiencing this problem; however, crashes are more like 60% on every zone and/or cutscene. I don't know what changed, but it wasn't unstable like this a year ago. This issue is making it particularly hard to do anything considering there's so much traveling involved in FFXI and few people are willing to put up with waiting/understanding this issue on my behalf. It terrifies me to think about attempting any missions/bcnms/events where zoning or cutscenes could ruin the entire attempt for myself or party members.

Fingers crossed that this is addressed sometime soon.

Hi All! Long time lurker and former playing. I'm having trouble connecting and not sure what else to try.

I've installed using version 20 and also updated the Ashita Launcher mentioned here - https://na.nasomi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7977

However, I still receive the below error and fail to connect. Any suggestions / help to correct the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Code:
wine boot.exe

00cd:fixme:msvcp:_Locinfo__Locinfo_ctor_cat_cstr (0x32f6b8 1 C) semi-stub

Post subject:  Re: Updated Linux/Mac install guide

Would anyone be able to assist me in installing Nasomi for Linux? I am computer illiterate and have no idea what I'm doing. I have means of setting up a screenshare with live chat so that you can show me the exact things I need to click. I am very frustrated because this is my second attempt to install Nasomi for Linux.

I have extracted the installer files, but when I go to click "NasomiXI.exe" I get an error that says "An error occurred while loading the archive".

Any help would be appreciated.
