Post subject:  saw name change / char change
I saw you could change your char name and race? Is this still possible?

I made a stupid name when first signing up after creating my char features and got an error and didn't know if it was due to the name being used or my client not working properly. I prob should of deleted and remade it but I was just wanting to try out the game.

I was hoping to rename my character to something more clean instead of a name with random letters at the end :( !

Name changes are no longer supported.

If you haven't really done much in the game yet, just delete it and start over. You can transfer any items and gil you've already accumulated.

I sure hope these reply's are wrong ive been waiting the whole time since character change was implemented for name change to be added.. now im way to far along to start over

Unless you're already 75 with half of cop done and a craft 60+, you're not too far along to start over. You can transfer any non ra/ex items and gil. You won't lose any accumulated wealth.

I love this server and nas for making it :D

So IM always little scared to do any sort of criticizing at all :(

but I think a lot of new people have joined this server and when they first start
They really just want to see if they like it. There are so many names taken
and most of them by people who don't play anymore or maybe never got past level 1
new people are forced to just kind of pick weird names :/

a lot of time gets invested into a character and then they are stuck with a name
They hate and they then don't want to restart and it just kind of takes away
From it.

In my particular case I might of still had time to reroll or whatever
only I saw that when race change got added that name changes would get added at a
Later date.. So I was like oh I can keep going but now I'm like well crap.

Another person I know is .. I don't want say being harassed necessary but
Getting unwanted attention from there name simply cause its a girly name
And trying to fight off people flirting with them when they simply wanted to play
The game this person has considered quitting over the unwanted advances they didn't
Come to this server to date. If they wanted that they would of gone to a dating website.

Blacklist wouldn't work cause the people are just I Dont know not quite
Being jerks. Name change would let them have a more neutral
Name and would let them play without any weirdness going on.

Also lastly I think the people who've been on the server the longest kind of didn't
Experience trying to create a character in this. And just got the name they wanted
So they can't relate :/

I'm not dissing it here I love this server nas doesnt have to do any of this he pays for all
of it programs does updates keeps evil botters and hackers away
and i dont program myself maybe this would be a huge nightmare for him that wouldnt be cool
he can have it his way I just know that myself and others would be happy with a 2nd
chance ^.^

Why wouldn't blacklist work? I've blacklisted people and it is definitely effective in keeping myself happy in the presence of negativity.

I think he means if he adds a person to blacklist, then the person changes their name, then it wouldn't persist through the name change.

However this brings up a different point. Earlier in the server's age there were a couple women who joined and started flirting with guys for the sake of soliciting help, pl services, items, gil, etc. However, when they kept getting advances after they got what they want, they went to nas and complained. This led to the "Gender identification is prohibited. There is no need for anyone to know your gender in this world." rule. Nas had to deal with a lot of crap from those individuals. He even changed their names for them giving them the benefit of the doubt, and within HOURS they were back in complaining because they couldn't resist "Oh i used to be this person but nas changed my name because i'm super sensative about that stuff. Also, I REALLY want this new dagger, but it's like 100k and there's no way I could ever afford something like that, teehee."

Also people have built up a bad reputation on screwing over people, changed name, then kept doing it under the new name. Chances are this is why the name change service was stopped.
