Does anyone know what the situation is with coffer fatigue? I know in retail if you popped a coffer you could not pop it again for 45 minutes without receiving the "It was just an illusion" message and it repopping somewhere else, apparently this was added to keep people from monopolizing coffers and not allowing people to get AF and maps. So what's the deal here? I don't see any posted information about how it works here, but I've noticed that 45 minutes isn't long enough. Does relogging reset it? Zoning? I know people have figured it out (Look at Ballad 2's AH history, lol.) so I'd just like to know so I can help a party of friends I brought over get some Life Belts for free. |

Also not sure if it's relevant but I am using Thief's Tools and not keys. |

1 hour is the time limit, not 45mins. It was always 1hour on retail too, dunno where you got 45. This timer does not include coffers/chest for key items for quests, nor AF. |

I was reading on some old FFXIAH threads and the information is conflicting. (That's also where I got the 45 minute number.) |

Rather than a personal timer, I was under the impression that it was all persons popping the coffer in that zone for non-KI/AF items could not do so until the timer passed. |

You can open one chest OR coffer for gil/items per zone per rl hour. Once you open one chest or coffer, you must wait at least exactly one hour from that time to open another one for gil/items for that zone. Opening coffers or chests for AF items or quest-specific key items does not count for this timer. It is character specific, not zone-wide. |

To be clear, you're stating that in a hypothetical situation, it would be possible for 10+ thieves to pop a coffer and receive a mages ballad II in under 5 minutes, given that the coffer respawns near a waiting thief? Also, are the timers independent for the zones coffers and chests? (eg oztroja) |

Yes to first, though there is a 5min wait time for a coffer/chest to respawn. The coffer/chest does not instantly vanish, only after 5 mins when it repops. I am unsure if during this 5min window, it is elligble to be opened by other players or not. The timers are independent for different zones. Coffers and chests in the zone share the same timer. Remember, AF items and key items for quests are not affected by this timer. Honestly it's not that hard... |
