Hey guys, some of you have tried to help me with this issue in game and so far nothing has helped, so I wanted to see if there would be any explanation as to why my FPS has dropped since Friday. I am not sure why, but it seems that after Nas implemented the fix of the IP issues, my FPS practically stays at 9-10 and dips to 4-5 when I'm around a handful of players... But when I'm in Choco Cirduit I'm at 58-60 FPS until I get to the spot where everyone sells stuff(4-5 FPS). Keep in mind that my brother plays in the same house in the next room from me and his FPS is fine, its just mine that is having issues. I'm playing on a new laptop and have been for a couple months and have had no issues until this weekend. I have turned shadows and weather effects off and have even looked up the IP address and used it to connect to the server and no change... I am not a computer genius so im not sure what else to do unless it is related to whatever fix took effect this weekend. If anyone knows any tips or tricks, I'm open to them... I feel like I'm playin on PS2 again... lol Thanks for any help you can give. |

I would try reinstall the graphics card driver first. Then perhaps double check that the graphic cards isn't using power saving mode; newer laptops tend to do that - reverting to some generic cards instead of using 3D cards. |

Does your laptop have integrated graphics and a graphics card? New laptops hate direct x 8. My $1k gaming laptop hates this game, but will run anything and everything else at ultra settings. Im playing now on a $500 laptop with max fps. Just how the new laptops are being designed. |

Thanks for the suggestions here guys... turns out my laptop had switched to the eco power save mode when I updated the driver the other day, I switched it back and immediately fps went back up. Problem Solved!!! |

Damn, is there no workaround for this? With the correct drivers installed, and the settings configured correctly, this shouldn't be an issue. Laptops/Desktops don't vary much when it comes to hardware. Only real difference is everything is obviously a lot more compact in a laptop. My suggestion would be trying to mess with your nvidia (graphics card) control panel and tweak some settings, and trying to run the game in compatibility mode. Also, your monitor can make a rather large difference in fps as well, if you are hooking up to one from your laptop. Can you post a pic of your graphics card settings? |

This has been discussed a few times. basically there's some incompatibility between dx8 games and nvidia switchable gfx in laptops (dx8 games will only use the igp and not switch to the nvidia gpu) and the only solution someone may have found besides downgrading to win7 (uncomfirmed) is this dx8 wrapper called dgvoodoo2. see this thread viewtopic.php?f=14&t=499&hilit=laptop&start=20 |
