Hey all! My internet is kinda' slow so I'm trying different tweaks to improve game performance. Apparently there's a way to prioritize traffic for specific apps in your router settings. Is anyone familiar with how to do this? I'm sorry if this is a vague question.

I found some articles on how to do it but I wonder if the settings are different for a private server. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Port forwarding won't do anything to your game performance. Snake oil.

It really only benefits games with really low latency needs..." twitchy" games like an FPS. And that can be questionable as well, depending on the normal latency of your connection---all you are doing is improving your local latency, nothing to do with what happens in the middle of the route when you get dropped on a third or even 4th party ISP's network.

The real benefit with prioritization kicks in if your home network is hammered with a lot of other stuff, like multiple people playing games/streaming on other devices while you are playing. Again, this is only to address lag that may get injected only on your local network segment... which may only be in the range of up to 10ms anyway in many cases.
