Old post but having problems:

I am past the first part but stuck the "Curses, Foiled...Again!?" part. I waited 1 day and talked to shantoto to start this part of the quest. I gave her the items and then she wanted the hair. I tried getting the hair but it never appeared in my KI and now I can't get it again.

Herp-Derp the hair is an actual item.

Necro bump: is there a workaround yet for this? I also can't reobtain the KI

Is this still broken? I trade the 2 ash, tree root, and hair but she wont accept it.

Couple things I noticed while doing this quest, remember that the Beaucedine taru has to give you shantotto's new spell, not shantotto's ex-spell, for the quest to continue. The first time I talked to him he gave me the ex-spell, I then went to fei'yin and got a CS, headed to Shantotto and she said I should talk to Rukususu still. Not sure if I needed to talk to Shantotto but did anyway. Then went back to Torino in Beaucedine and he took the ex-spell from my KI list telling me to come back next day. I zoned to Psoja right at the tower, waited the next game day and he gave me the new spell. Headed to fei-yin and got a different CS and then to Shantotto, getting my d2 spell.
