Post subject:  BST AF-3 Borghertz's Wild Hands, Stuck halfway *SOLVED*
Looking for any advice on advancing this AF quest that appears to be stuck. At every stage of the quest things were going perfectly, I attained lvl50+ and I completed AF-1 for my Barbaroi Axe. I was able to get the quest Borghertz's Wild Hands from Guslam and it is currently showing in my quest log. I farmed my coffer key, and opened it up to obtain the key item Some Old Gauntlets.

Following the online quest instructions, I spoke to Guslam again in Jueno, and got the correct response from him... and the next step was to talk to Yin Pocanakhu in Neptune's Spire, which is where I hit my snag. She does not give me the correct response according to quest directions, instead all she will mention is something about Aldo. I have tried various things, but nothing so far has worked:

1) I tried talking to her repeatedly, including both after zoning, and also an irl day later to see if perhaps something had just bugged out.
2) I tried trading her gil even though I hadn't gotten the correct text response, but she didn't take the money.
3) Tried going back to Guslam, and re-talking to every NPC in the shop again, and also then back to Yin afterwards to see if she'd give me the proper convo starter.
4) Tried going down to Port Jueno, and examining the toolbox just to see if anything different would happen.

Even on that 4th experiment, I didn't trigger the Ghost to appear, so I know it would be pointless to go kill Dark Spark... unless I am just missing something wildly different on Nasomi compared to Retail. If anyone has an idear on what I could try, please consider helping out this poor wayward Beastmaster that desperately needs his full AF =p


Edit: One more thing in case it helps - I have no jobs other than BST that are in range for AF (they are all lvl31 or less), and BST is the only/first job to start AF quest, so I don't have another job's AF interfering in any way.

The gil option is a hidden option at the Mithra npc isnt it?

Seeing as this is Neptune's Spire we are talking about, I could absolutely see her offering a hidden option, like the girl at the front counter does. But Yin doesn't give me the quest dialog that matches the AF quest, and she doesn't give me any options at all to choose from. She just repeats "Watch your back. Our boss Aldo is a real pirate. I can be quite a scoundrel too, but I ain't nothing compared to him." Then she has 2 more txt lines directly discussing Aldo, and then after she turns away.

No options to choose from her, and she repeats the Aldo lines every time I talk to her.

According to the quest directions, after coming back with the key item and talking to Guslam, the steps should be:
1) Talk to Yin
2) She mentions toolbox and asks for gil
3) Pay her, and then head down to examine toolbox in Port
4) Talk to Ghost, and head off to kill Dark Spark.

If any of that sounds incorrect, lemme know.

Ok, on a whim and out of desperation, I was going thru my quests and missions to look for anything related to Aldo, or that I thought could possibly interfere with this AF quest. I found the PM mission 1-1 The Rites of Life open and showing in my log, and I quickly finished the last step to advance me towards PM 1-2. Don't even ask me why, but after finishing this open mission, now Yin is giving me the proper quest dialog for AF.

Issue now solved, and I will leave this info up in case someone else runs into this problem.
