I just downloaded and installed everything necessary to start playing today on my Macbook. After the rigmarole of getting that put together I created an account on the forum and game. I made a character and it seems to be accepted but when I hit login I am getting this FFXI-3101 error. I have reset my router, I am not using a cellular internet connection I am using charter cable. My Firewall is off... My character has the same name as my game login account so I'm not sure if that is the problem? Either way I can't try a different name either because I get the same error if I try to delete my character. Any advice? I'm not sure what is wrong |

I did figure out how to delete the character from the website and created a new one with a different name... same problem. Character registration goes through but get the error when I attempt to login |

I wonder if this error has anything to do with multiple accounts on the same network. I'm able to log in to my main and alt, but I tried to make characters for my wife and daughter (on their own accounts) and get the ffxi-3101 error every time they try to log in (they can make characters, but not log in). |

I only created one character and had this problem so I’m not sure this error is limited to that |

It appears as though ALL new characters are linked to this error |

I have ruled out possible internet issues or launcher issues. Had my brother attempt to login as me with same issue, deleting character and recreating same error, creating new alt same error |

This issue should be resolved, please delete the char on the account and remake, and you should be good to go. |
