Currently at work so wont be able to try any fixes if people have them but wanted to get a thread started and hopefully have some ideas by the time I get home today

Basically when using my ps4 controller my button inputs are intermittently delayed by about 1-2 seconds at any given point no matter how many people are around so its not a lag thing.

The D-pad works fine for navigation at all times but when I attempt to use a button it can be delayed at any given time , and it comes and goes at will , I can be fighting a nm and I may lag for the first 10% then itll be fine for the next 20% then I can lag again for the last part of the mob.

Just curious if anyone has experiences this issue before I attempt to sit in nas chat to figure out a fix , game is almost unplayable when I am unable to use spells at the proper times especially on RDM or SAM tanking.

Thanks for any ideas that you may have.

So this might actually be a Windows 10 thing. From my buddy obsessing over input latency u can disable all non used ports and a few other things to get the delay down. Sorry I don't know more.

I have the opposite sometimes. Buttons are quick, but the analogs have a weird delay. I'm using a bluetooth controller and it can be delayed by 2-3 seconds, which is really painful at times. It seems to be more so when my laptop is under load, lots of mobs or people. It never happens when I'm wired or on my desktop, which is more powerful

I had a delay on controller input when switching between FFXI and another application. This has since been eliminated when I used Windower. I don't know if you're using it, and if you are not sure I can be of much more help.

I am also having this problem. I've been playing for years and only seemed to creep up in the last month. I ended up completely reformatting my computer and reinstalling (it had been years), and still no luck.

I have checked my controller latency in DS4Window and Input Mapper, and things look great on that end.

tldr; no solution, but I keep trying to find one.

Arcanis, I may have had some luck as things seem to be very improved for me. I haven't had time to play for long though, so if you do the same, give it a try and let me know.

I assume you're using DS4 or xinputmapper or scp to connect your PS4 controller? If so, go to your windows task manager and in the "Details" tab, right click the application, and "Set priority" to "realtime". Since I've done that, my button and trigger lag has been eliminated (but I've only been playing for 10 minutes).

I still haven't found a way to make the "realtime" setting the default on windows start-up without downloading other applications, which seems crazy. But if this is the solution, it's not awful spending 30 seconds to do this each time you restart your computer.

Let me know!

I’ll try it in a bit and let you know!

Update: I don’t have that tab :/. I’m still on windows 7 :( so it maybe different? I’m also not sure what I’m using program wise? I just plug the controller into the laptop and ensure it’s working with nasomi config. Which it works fine there but button lag in game.

I'll take a look when I'm home later tonight for Windows 7 solution but I know the priority setting exists.
