I'm new to Wine, but have successfully used it to install other programs. When installing POL I get "Error: -1627 Function Failed"

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

bump

Any advice on how to utilize Wine using the new installer? Would love a guide to get it done. I'm having trouble getting things going on my laptop when approaching the .bat file.

Thanks!

Even getting this working on a VM would be fine with me. I've been toying with WMware Fusion the past couple days. Tried Windows 10, and get about 10-20 FPS depending on whats going on...

you can get it running through WINE just fine. all you need to do is add the registry settings, move the files, register the dlls instead of running the installer. then, find the right imm32.dll.so or whatever it is. luckily, that's posted somewhere on the forums here already.

then you can launch it through command line with wine boot.exe --server nasomi.com --hairpin

Maybe, maybe not. I started the adventure with WINE, playing with it for about a month back in Feb, asking for pointers here, and all I got was a bunch of snobby replies of "it's not that hard." Even had the installer from then working; I just couldn't the game to run. I think it was issues with the C++ and .net libraries, but no help.

I didn't have to do any .net library or C++ installation when running using wine.

I moved the files to the correct location (drive_c\NasomiXI.. etc).

Then I added the correct registry entries by merging the 64 bit registry file that comes with the install.

Then I registered the dlls by running the regsvr32 lines through wine's windows cmd line.

I placed that imm32.dll.so file wherever that other guide said to put it.

Then I ran the game. That was all.
