Friends computer is restarting while playing FFXI. There is no blue screen or freezing, just powers off. He doesn't have this problem playing FFXIV, Borderlands 2, FFXI retail, or any other game. The trigger seems random. It happens while browsing the AH, talking to NPC, or entering new zones.

Steps I've done so far:
Uninstalled the game ran CCleaner and reinstalled it and had the same issue.
Left settings on default and had same issue. No graphics mods or anything like that.
Graphics card is up to date but I am considering uninstalling it and reinstalling it.

I know it's not much to go on so I'm looking to bounce some ideas before attempting windows 10 reformat or any one else is experiencing the same issue

If it's just powering off, I would download HWMonitor if you are on Windows and check your temperatures while playing.

Is it stupid high? Are you pulling a lot of power?

Shouldn't be but I'll download HWmonitor and post what I'm seeing soon
