I'm curious if anyone else has been able to play this game on multiple private servers without the core files and registry files conflicting? I thought I'd just make copies of the core files and dll files and manually swap them whenever I wanted to play on either, so I wouldn't have to completely reinstall the game every time but that doesn't seem to work or maybe I'm missing a few files that I need to copy that I'm unaware of. I have also tried installing the game on Windows 10 emulated through virtualbox, which I guess isn't capable of running ffxi from what I've read. I'm curious if anyone knows a way around any of these? I'd love to play on both servers, but having to reinstall the game from scratch every time I want to play on a different one makes that not so feasible. Loving the server though, thanks!

Each server likely has their own log in programs (launchers) that helps point to the server in question. We can help you with the Nas Loader and the like, but you may need to get help with connecting to the other server from their player base. Make sure to check out if they need Ashita or Windower and ask them for help with configuring it in case they need specific configurations. That way you can use the Nas launcher for this one and be okay to connect and keep playing.

Also note that some servers are running different version of the games, so if you do install the game on multiple drives and use different registry files etc., make sure you also keep your launchers and xiloaders within that specific install just to help you out with not "crossing the streams" by expecting your launchers to point to the 2 different locations you installed the game to. Otherwise if you just have the 1 full install you may seem some weirdo things (invisible people and floating names, npcs names for books, etc.) as your version is in conflict with the servers ids and such.

The other server uses Windower, but the issue seems to lie with the files "crossing streams" some how despite the registry files for Nasomi being in their own directory and vice versa. The issue only starts when I download and install the latest set of server files. For example, initially I had Other Private Server(OPS)'s files installed and I was able to access the server no problem. I used Nasomi's installer, it did its thing and I was able to access/login to Nasomi no problem, but was now unable to access or login to OPS. Troubleshooting, I had to completely uninstall FFXI and delete OPS's files which both appeared to be in completely separate registry directories, and game files that were for sure located on an HDD separate of Nasomi's. After reinstalling only the base FFXI's from PlayOnline's website here: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/downlo ... l_win.html now I could no longer login to Nasomi at all, with only those base files installed. I hadn't even patched to the version of FFXI that OPS uses, so it's something that the FFXI install itself changes. If I can figure out what that is or if anyone knows I think I can solve this issue. After patching completely to the files that OPS uses, I was able to access/login to OPS no problem, but still unable to login to Nasomi. It would get through XI loader and let me login, but after login it just automatically closes XIloader and the game never pops up. I've been trying to work with the devs of the other server too, but they also seem to be at a loss.

DLL registration.

http://nasomi.com/wiki/index.php?title= ... asomi_swap

This same method can be used to launch any version, not just retail or nasomi when both are installed.

Nas is working on an installer which uses separate DLLs for Nasomi than retail or other servers. Nasomi already uses different registry entries, as you've noticed.

Okay, so using the bat files does partially work for me which is awesome, because I no longer have to sit through a 5 hour long file check through POL lol. Unfortunately now the only hangup I'm running into is that only running the "RetailDLL" bat file seems to work for me. I go from being able to access Nasomi to being able to access my other private server now without a hitch, but when I run the "NasomiDLL" bat file, it doesn't change things back to Nasomi's settings, so I can still only access the other private server even after running the bat file. I can fix it by just running Nasomi's installer, which is much less of a headache, but it's still a 10-15 minute process I'd like to avoid if possible. Any thoughts on why this might be occurring? I've installed both retail FFXI files and Nasomi FFXI files in their default locations on the C drive in program files(x86). Thanks again!

Did you edit the NasomiDLL.bat file to reflect your nasomi file locations?

Yeah that's my mistake, I overlooked the file paths for Nasomi in the bat file and assumed it would be what the default was set to like it is for the retail bat. Just had to add in program files(x86) and it worked like a charm! Thank you guys so much again.

I've edited the contents of the file to reflect the new default Nasomi install directory.

Hello! I'm getting a connection time out error when I attempt to download the above mentioned bat files. Do you know if this is a problem on my end?
