Hi everyone. I’m currently designing the reward system for my new multiplayer RPG and I’m struggling with the geymdisayn of the loot boxes. I want to offer players exciting rewards, but I’m terrified of making the game feel 'pay-to-win' or causing player fatigue with too many 'common' drops. How do you calculate the drop rates for legendary items so they feel rare enough to be special, but common enough that players don't give up? I’ve seen some developers use 'pity timers' where the odds increase after a certain number of failed attempts. Is that the gold standard now, or does it ruin the organic excitement of a lucky pull? I want my players to feel rewarded for their time, not just their wallets.

The secret to a healthy geymdisayn for rewards is transparency and the 'pity' mechanic you mentioned—it guarantees that effort eventually pays off. As a developer, I spend all day staring at probability curves and spreadsheets, which can really fry your brain after a few hours. To keep my mind sharp and avoid burnout, I usually spend my free time playing on https://bubblesbet.me.uk/. It’s my favorite way to switch off from the 'behind-the-scenes' math of game development; I move from analyzing drop rates and RNG logic to enjoying a fast-paced, vibrant environment that offers pure, instant excitement. It helps me clear my head of variables and balancing issues, so when I get back to my project, I can see the player experience with much more clarity. Sometimes, the best way to understand a reward system is to just step away and have some fun yourself!
