Hi everyone! I stumbled upon Nasomi when looking for FFXI private servers. It sounds like a fun one since it's more of a throwback (with some exceptions it seems) then others. Glad to go back to the Zilart/CoP days as that was the true peak of this game. I put a lot of time into this game but never truly finished it off, being on the last mission or 2 of both Zilart and CoP, never did . Came back to retail a few times, played ToAU, WotG, and while I enjoyed a lot of what that had to offer, I thought it didn't compare to the older content. There are some things I'll miss (Fields of Valor, consistent EXP rings, Scholar) but ultimately I'm glad to play the game in this state. I haven't found an MMO quite like FFXI so call it nostalgia or too many member-berries perhaps, I want to get back into the game I loved as a teenager (and I find it ridiculous they still charge monthly on retail at this point...)

I'll be playing as a Taru (started at Windurst) WHM or RDM, as besides subjobs I never really explored these to their fullest. Solo RDM has always been interesting to me. I'm familiar with healing as I used to play a Summoner primarily.

I don't think friend lists work in game due to not having Play Online. Either way, I always kept a notepad handy for when friend list notes weren't enough. Welcome back to old school FFXI as well. No trusts, no tricks, no single player MMORPG experience.
