I just found out about your awesome project and am thinking of coming to join you all in Vana'diel.
I originally started ffxi just after CoP was released and played for a few years, till about WotG was released then I stopped due to rl crap.

I have been back to Vana'diel twice now and my most recent foray was rather dissapointing. I couldn't find anyone to pt with and when I asked a few ppl they said 'oh yeah you just solo to 30 and then leech in abby to 99 in a day' WHAA?????
Leech xp? 99 in a day? wtf? lol.

I was unimpressed with this to say the least, I soloed to around 50 and got sick of it so I did go and leech in abby (and felt terrible) but at least I was chuckin some nukes, even if I was on RDM and not helping all that much I still felt it better than those afk xp'ers.

Then I did zilart, pwnd kirin with two other players (3 ppl taking down kirin??) for my red legs and then soloed promys....... solo promys? Yeah well that killed it for me. Promys were meant to be tough.

Anyways I'm getting off topic and blabbing now, hehe. I used to love FFXI and am finally in a life/housing situation that I can play again but the retail is dead to me, ppl didn't even know what the 'Taru Dance' was!

One thing I always had a problem with was latency as I am in Australia and our internet is rather crap. I've searched around on google for the Nasomi server ip but evey one I've found is dead, could someone tell me it so I can ping it?
Also if you have high ping could you post it and what your experience is like? I'm getting excited here but don't wanna count my Taru's before they hatch.

I spent a month in Asia past year and the ping was almost the same as when I was in the states. It's better than SE's ever was. I think you'll have no issues. You can also click naschat at the to chat with players.
