my names poki, ive been around for a few months on and off but recently started playing very regularly.
i've known nabutso for many years (actually met him from another old free 8-bit final fantasy online game) and after i played project99 everquest last year and had my fill he told me about nasomi and i decided to check it out. i was a bit overwhelmed at first but i'm finally at a point at which i feel like i have a good handle on the game and plan to play a lot going forward.

my main is DRK atm and I plan to get it to 75 with WAR/SAM subs. But I've unlocked Ninja and plan to unlock Paladin soon as well, and basically play all the tankiest and heaviest-hitting melees. I'm also interested in playing BRD and COR eventually, and maybe doing some crafting; alchemy is the first I plan to try, along with fishing.

I like to socialize and my favorite thing to do in the game is just chill in relaxed exp parties and chat on linkshells. If you have a good chatty linkshell, let me know. I eventually want to be a good tank/offtank and hefty melee DPS that can protect people and beat up bad guys really good.

I'm a strong believer in people just playing what they want and doing what they want, even making unorthodox parties work at all but the very highest levels of play, and helping do away with all the rampant misinformation and old negative rumors that surrounds many aspects of the game as well as unwarranted and unhelpful misplaced elitism. I do think that in a game as difficult and time-consuming as this that people should learn everything about their class and role and be attentive, but this refers more to the player's skill and willingness to learn and succeed than them playing a job in their role that's not some players' flavor of the week.
I want to dispel the idea that warriors can't tank at least in leveling parties with a half-decent healer.
I want to dispel the idea that ninja is absolutely necessary as a tank in most situations rather than this being people getting too used to 'free' no-damage-taken little-healing-needed clone-tanking. i say this AS someone who plans to play and maybe even eventually main NIN.
I want to dispel the idea that whitemage and redmage aren't equally good healers in 99% of situations.
I want to dispel the idea that redmage is absolutely necessary as a healer in most situations rather than this being people getting too used to refresh and assuming it's necessary to play the game. i say this AS someone who'd prefer to play rdm over whm if i ever decide to level a healing job.
I want to dispel the idea that you NEED to ALWAYS be killing IT's that give exactly 200 base exp in all situations rather than enemies giving 180 exp killed at a much faster rate with healthy spawns (it can be hard enough to get a party set up past dunes sometimes as it is, this ideal-or-nothing mentality has got to go).
I want to dispel the idea that the sync always has to be at an extremely specific level for certain camps and one level off is a no-go; I want people to put in the effort to find other nearby camps or kill other mobs at a slightly slower pace until things even out or get to where they should be, and just enjoy the party as it is regardless and not be so stringent.
I want to dispel the idea that literally anything's wrong with DRG or MNK, at the very least during the leveling process.
I think that now that the population is this healthy every single day, we should start to re-evaluate secondary accounts and if they should even exist beyond mules, as they give players an unfair advantage over single-boxers when 'soloing' and universally severely limit the quality of both characters + clog up parties from other players in need when it comes to parties.
I think sync range should be 15 up to 1k now.

pretty much, I just want to be at least one small cog in a bigger machine of turning this rusted-over old mentality of "how things HAVE to be or I won't even play!!!" that a lot of players seem to have, either from having played before when misinformation was rampant or hearing from old players or posts and had this spread to them like a toxin. I think absolutely everyone would enjoy the game more if we loosened up just a little bit and realized so much of what we thought was set in stone really isn't.

Anything else? The word "popoki" is my favorite word ever, so I use it as a name, but it's actually hawaiian for cat which would fit mithra, and sounds very much like an accurate tarutaru name...
