Good Evening everyone,

I'm a returning player from the glory days, except this time I am no longer 15 and have considerably less time to enjoy the game. My question is, what would be a good job for me to play when I have approx. 2 hours to play nightly during the week? I imagine I will be soloing a lot and am looking for some solid advice. as a disclaimer, I don't take a particular interest in BST . I am free on the weekends and will be able to enjoy the luxury of partying then.

there are a number of soloable jobs outside of bst.

BLM is sortof the king on this server. it solos pretty darn well and its relevant for pretty much any content.

NIN is very good. and i assume THF/NIN would do well for the same reasons. both have very high evasion and parry. both have shadows. both have solid dps. youll need crafting or farming for tools tho

DRG/WHM or /RDM or /BLU is very solid, though risky if you get unlucky. mage subjob wyverns are the most efficient healing in the game, but you can only heal when below 33% health (50% with AF helm). very good dps, but if youre not kept up on gear and skillups, you can lose agro to the wyvern, and when it dies, youre soon to follow. even though the healing is efficient, its mp pool is tiny. consider leveling cooking for refresh drinks

WHM and RDM are both very safe soloists, but very slow compared to the others. they need to rest for mp often. RDM is a step ahead here with access to convert and refresh. RDM is also more offensive which will make the fights faster, and has access to gravity, bind, sleep, etc. WHM gets reraise. both get sneak and invis which are essential for soloing the game outside of combat

PUP is unfortunately not an option here, even tho its good solo on retail. pup isnt quite working yet.

there are probably more options (I think SMN and BLU can pull something off?) but those are what come to mind first. I love soloing in xi, I hope it treats you well

Also note that dual boxing is permited on this esrver, so dual boxing a healer plus a strong dd that can take a few hits like sam works pretty well.
