Y Hallo Thar Sailors!I've played a lot of casual XI back in the day (some vanilla for a year or so, then random returns here and there) And haven't found an mmorpg that's close to it yet!
I've heard some great some not-so-great with the server, but here I am going to give it a shot and decide for myself.
Name in game: Valrick
Job goals: warrior for now, will rotate lower level jobs for a while until i can afford gear to take choice jobs to higher levels.
Desired jobs later: Pld/Smn/Brd primaries hopefully!
I've read that sandorians can sell some loot from rabbits/bats for some money. Any other great tips on how to get started?
I'm not looking for handouts. I know this game is tough starting out. And i'm totally okay with that

Hey! Valrick
Glad for you to be here. A couple of tips for this server.
1. You can access your Mog House's Sack/Satchel/Case anywhere. That's 70ish of instant slots to use.
2. You can put unlimited number of items on the AH. Not 7 like retail. Just don't go to sales status.
3. Stay away from the giant winged Dragons that are randomly in the world. Those are OWNMs which are basically BCNMs but much harder, still level cap you and will kill you, they aggro on SIGHT. Most groups that kill them are gravity/bind/burn Mage groups.
4. Friend's List do not work, so create a Google doc to keep track of friends and also find a LS or 2. (Can equip 2)
5. Add Zeko to Google doc of friends list, that's me

64BST/37NIN/30WHM/30THF/18RDM/31BLM/5WAR
6. Nasomi has extended length of a monster being EP. You can get 30 exp from monsters much longer than retail and it is worth it for the extra crystals/quick exp when 2-3 shotting something depending on Job.
7. Some jobs have broken mechanics. Right now PuP is not that useful, and BLU has some physical Magic issues which they don't really become good until you can merit to fix some of the issues
8. Always have Signet, it prevents TP loss. Focus Funguars/Fire crystals for some quick early cash. A stack of dark is between 1800-2000 and a stack of fire is like 1000-1200. Which two stacks can give you a decent head start on gear.
9. Some BST Monsters can be charmed that could not be charmed on retail. Like Malboros and Gobueues. Which is nice as they are typically stronger, not game breakingly overpowered though. Undead/Beastmen still uncharmable
