I haven't played since chains expansion lol and I was wondering what is the fastest way to level up in the beginning since there is no field manuals and etc.

In a party. You'll go 1-12 or so on your own, then venture to the dunes where you'll party until 19-20. Then you'll head to Jeuno for your chocobo license and party in qufim until 24-25. After that team up with some people for the kazham airship pass, and travel to kazham to party until 30 or so.

Alright thanks guys. Oh and also my hit animation when i am in battle is missing, like i hear the sound of my sword hitting the enemy and i see it in the battle log but i dont see anything, is this normal?

Does your character swing his/her weapon? Try going through the settings in the Config menu, you can turn on/off most effects in there.
