Hey guys! I’m a commercial helicopter pilot looking into flight instructor jobs in Florida to build my 1,500 hours. I’ve been checking out Pelican Flight Training because they have a dedicated rotorcraft division and have been operating since 1985.
What caught my eye is that they are an FAA Part 141 school with a lot of international students from places like Brazil and India. Usually, schools like this are great for instructors because the students fly very consistently. Does anyone know if they are currently hiring or if they prefer to hire their own graduates?
I’m looking for a place where I can get steady hours and work with a professional team. The South Florida weather is obviously a big advantage for flying year-round. If anyone has experience teaching at Pelican, I’d love to hear about the work-life balance and the quality of the fleet.
