Elegy is weird. When I needed one months back it was doing the same flip flop of 30k>70k>100k>oversupply. None on stock so I finally went out and killed for mine, grabbing a second on alt before I left (called last mob then leaving, RNGesus provided). I ended up not getting all that much for the second copy (time spent wise) as mentioned people see this spike and think easy money, easy life. Being like the only item (ballad2, ExpmagesLol) naked crap bards need for most parties to 75 its one of the things they will buy but it drops from a small amount of spawns on a longer timer in the boonies.

The tactic is wrong-doing.

Is one thing, digging the market, buying for cheap and then reselling. With the rest of you I say "wisen up, people!"

But here Joe (and other players) are actually trying to deceive people, artificially lowering the price of the item, creating a fake Price History in order to later buy for cheap of that particular item from candid sellers. You know is wrong.
This is a community game and you are making your money by scamming other people their hard earned items.

This is fixable, for example people shouldn't be allowed to buy more than one per day of the same product from themselves (Main/Alt/Mule)

For now, if you feel the way I feel about it, I say: Don't Play with the people you suspect are doing the same. Don't invite them to your pt's, don't be part of Pt's that include these devious players, and you might even politely explain to the group why.

This thread is 4 months old, but what are you saying here? I should only be allowed to buy 1 mat each day?

Well honestly, this is wrong. I wont say which item, but there was an item selling for around like 10k, and I used my main, and my alt and mule to "artificially" increase the price of an item up to 50k, it evened out around 40k. Many people partake in this market now, and many buy it for this price. I am no longer in said market, but it is holding steady from 40k-45k. What I did was wrong? No. I needed the gil, there was a demand, why not increase the price? If it was that bad, the price would of dropped back down to 10k but it didn't.

So changing the price of something for your benefit only works when the demand is there for said item. Otherwise your just wasting gil/time/energy.
