I don't know if this is a question already answered in another thread, so I am posting it here. I apologize for any re-postings.

I'm a new player to the server (about 2 weeks) and I stared picking up fishing as a way to make some early gil and gather materials for skilling up cooking. I got to level 9 fishing the jellyfish, crayfish, and moat carp, but I noticed that things are getting a lot more difficult when trying to catch Bastore Sardines and Quus in both Selbina and Port Windurst. I'm using a Sabiki Rig (according to other fishing guides on here, this is the best lure to get them), but I am not getting any bites in either area. Other high-level players that I see are catching these fish with extreme ease. Is this because I'm a relatively new player, or am I missing something else?

If you're getting no bites, it might be the fishing rod you are using.
