Heya, just started as a way to kill time lfg, but not seeing skill ups at the moment.

Using a Halcyon Rod at the moment. Catching several Quus and Sardines at Windurst docs have yielded no skill ups (around 15 total).

Trying Knights well with little worm and keep getting things that are out of my skill range and can't catch.

Am I missing something at the moment?

So for regular crafts, the general rule is "be within 5 levels of the cap to have a chance at skill every time." You can still skill up with, say, woodworking on a 7 gap, but you must succeed to do so.

Based on that, I found somewhere I could only catch jellyfish and could not break my rod.

It's been quite slow, but I have gained a couple of levels of skill in a few hours of work.
