one issue is that mobs have a level range, so it isn’t the same exp for every kill.

People can come to their own conclusions based on that information. If a mob gives 192 exp instead of 200, that means they're basically the perfect level to be there. If it gives 200 exp for a 5 level range, it means they started there 5 levels early. It will be up to the players to decide, based on that information, where they should go, rather than giving arbitrary "start here at level x" values, providing the exact exp earned at different levels will tell the party exactly what to expect.


Fair enough, I think that's good to start with. Some camps might not have enough mobs or fast enough respawn times to carry a constant pull. For example, I partied at the 31 camp in Sauromugue Champaign on Evil Weapons one time (granted this was a few years ago, perhaps its been changed now) and have never gone back because while it was great xp per mob, it was not the best xp/hr because we killed everything and then twiddled our thumbs waiting on respawns. Perhaps we can just note odd things like this that might pop up and it can go into the comments field.

Zone = The Sanctuary of Zi'tah (I9)
Targets = Ogrefly
Notes = Camp in the dip under the green tree root. Lesser Gayles pops at night.

LV = 40-44 (Can come 39 if strong PT)
Size = 6
EXP = 200
Zone = The Sanctuary of Zi'tah (E8/9)
Targets = Master Coeurl & Hell Hounds @night
Notes = Camp south of SAM AF1 / bridge. WHM or /WHM recommend for Erase and -NA spells

This is accurate. Big difference between a standard EXP party, which should be gunning for 192 base exp mobs, and a twinked out party with a PL (or two); which can go nuts on anything they can kill quick enough to chain.

Your experience in a tank, dps x 2-3, support, healer party might be vastly different than a SAM, SAM, RNG, BRD, COR, RDM + PL in the next.

Already the actual watching of when the EXP values change and recording them has revealed a LOT:

1. you only get 157 on lizards bastok-side at lv 10. So it's totally doable. in fact, I watched a party wreck through that part of the dunes last night. this party had -some- trouble at 12 at the '12' lizzy camp, because the "12" lizzards give 192 at lv 12, and 157 at 13. So, what this means is... if you're brave, you CAN go to the dunes in a party of ALL LEVEL 9s, and ignoring job traits and gear upgrades at lv 10, you'd have a similar experience to being 12 at the "12" camp. and flies? 15 through 17 no problem. add sheep and you can stay at that camp until 18 at least. if you have a whm with curaga that knows how to use it, this is the perfect place to use it for both the aoe damage and aoe sleeps.

2. garlaige, the upper part, is higher level than people expect. people seem to go there as early as 31, which is insane, since the bats only start to give less than 200 at level 35 or 36.

3. qufim. worms at level 20 for 192 exp at my best guess. Doing the pond at 20/21 through 24 with crabs included is completely reasonable. you don't have to go do pugs and get killed at lv 22 or 23.

4. KRT. one reason it's so good? not just penta, but because you're earning capped exp until lv 53. parties are essentially -always- going there "early" set by the standards of other parties; but you can handle doing that even with a standard party simply because of the things jobs get by level 50.
