Hello fellow BSTs! Here is some era appropriate info on some camps where you might take a normal XP party yet still find pets for yourself rather than having to use jugs. This is not my own work and I have not test all of this on Nasomi, but it was posted during our timeline so should be mostly valid!

Quote:

Valkurm Dunes
PT 10-20
12-15 Sand Bats - Aggro
12-15 Night Bats (only spawn at night time)
15-18 Hill Lizard
15-18 Sand Hare
17-20 Star Bat
18-22 Snipper
20-23 Damselfly
20-22 Giant Bat - Aggro

Commentarus:
You can probably get away with partying most of these levels as if you were a WAR and avoid the hassle of recharming your pet mid-fight (and avoid the 30% exp cut) ..but where's the fun in that? ;)

Buburimu
PT 10-20
15-18 Sylvestre
15-18 Mighty Rarab
18-22 Snipper
20-23 Bull Dhalmel
20-23 Carnivorous Crawler
20-23 Zu

Carpenter's Landing
PT 10-14 North Landing
14-17 Digger Wasp

Commentarus:
From DalarenBahamut:

The north landing is good for parties up to level 14 (MAYBE 15, if you have the rare smart party that is willing to give up regular big numbers in favor of fast kills), so your only charming option is likely to be a digger wasp (levels 14-17).

Meriphataud Mountains
PT 11-14 Hill lizards[/lg]
13-16 Wandering Sapling
13-16 Night Bats (only spawn at night time)

Carpenter's Landing
PT 16-20 Central Landing
20-24 Marsh Funguar - Aggro
20-23 Stag Beetle

Commentarus:
From DalarenBahamut:

The central landing is probably good for parties up to only 18 or 19, which leaves nothing charmable in the area, though if you stay to 20 fighting the bigger orcs, you could find the rare level 20 beetle or funguar (the latter do aggro).

Maze of Shakhrami
PT 17-19 2nd Tier Goblins[/lg]
15-18 Stink Bats

Sauromugue Champaign
PT 19-21 Diving Beetles[/lg]
20-23 Midnight Wings (only spawn at night time)

Commentarus:
Although the bats only spawn at night time, they will not despawn if they uncharm (they will be busy attacking you), be sure to bring pet food to keep them alive during the day.

Qufim
PT 19-25
25-27 Seeker Bats
25-29 Clipper
25-27 Dark Bats (only spawn at night time)

Commentarus:
Almost not worth listing here, you only get access to local pets at the level everyone else is rushing off to Kazham.

Korroloka Tunnel
PT 20-23 Land Worms, (K-8)(D-8)[/lg]
22-26 Seeker Bats
23-27 Jelly - Aggro (very hard to charm - consider Familiaring an EM)

Commentarus:
Watch out for Combats (27-30) linking with pet bats when you lose charm.

Batailla Downs
PT 20-27
20-24 Stalking Sapling
22-26 May Fly
23-25 Clipper
25-28 Ba

Lower Delkfutt's Tower
PT Lv23-25
25-27 Seeker Bats - Aggro

Commentarus:
The bats tend to hang around giants (sight aggro), so watch out for aggro when charming them (and don't try to charm Giga's Bats!)

Korroloka Tunnel
PT 24-26 Clippers[/lg]
22-26 Seeker Bats
23-27 Jelly - Aggro (very hard to charm - consider Familiaring an EM)

Commentarus:
Watch out for Combats (27-30) linking with pet bats when you lose charm.

Yuhtunga
PT Lv28-32 Sea Serpent Grotto zone area[/lg]
30-33 Yuhtunga Mandragora
32-35 Ivory Lizard

Commentarus:
Unlike the rest of the jungles, this area is rarely crowded, and a nice alternative to the trains of Garlaige.

Sauromugue Champaign
PT Lv31-33 Evil Weapons[/lg]
28-32 Sabertooth Tiger - Aggro
28-32 Sauromugue Skink - Aggro (hard to charm, and runs after you fast if you fail - tigers and coeurls are cooler anyway)
30-34 Champaign Coeurl - Aggro (nice paralysis attack)

Rolanberry Fields
PT 31-33 (K-7), Evil Weapons[/lg]
25-28 Berry Grub (far from ideal level, but still probably better than a jug pet)

Eastern Altepa Desert
PT 31-35 (I-6)[/lg]
30-34 Giant Spider

Sanctuary of Zi'Tah
PT 37-42 Behind Outpost[/lg]
39-42 Lesser Gaylas - Aggro (only spawns at night, will despawn if left uncharmed/unaggroed for too long!)
41-44 Ogrefly
41-46 Myxomycete
42-45 Goobbue Parasite

Crawler's Nest
PT 38-41 Nest Beetles, Soldier Crawlers[/lg]
40-42 Death Jacket
40-44 Worker Crawler
41-43 Maze Lizard

Yhoator Jungle
PT 39-42 Tele-Yhoat Crystal[/lg]
36-39 White Lizard
37-40 Yhoator Wasp
40-44 Young Opo-opo (hard to charm)

Eastern Altepa Desert
PT 39-42
36-40 Sand Beetle
39-44 Desert Dhalmel (curaga special move, amazing for parties - even heals other pets!)
42-46 Sabotender - Aggro (hard to charm, and may use 1,000 needles if you fail - maybe Familiar to show off 1,000 needles safely?)

Commentarus:
Really can't stress how awesome Dhalmels are. They have the Healing Breeze special move which will cure a large amount of HP to your party within it's AoE (at this level I think it's about the same as a Curaga II), the best thing is it uses up no MP, and the Dhalmel will require no healing if it pulls aggro doing it!

Western Altepa Desert
PT 39-43 Revelation Rock[/lg]
40-44 Desert Spider

Crawler's Nest
PT 40-45 "Racetrack Room"[/lg]
40-42 Death Jacket
40-44 Worker Crawler
41-43 Maze Lizard
42-44 Caveberry (linky if you fail charm!)
45-47 Nest Beetle
45-47 Killer Mushroom
45-47 Doom Scorpion - Aggro

Yhoator Jungle
PT 43-45 (I-6)[/lg]
40-44 Young Opo-opo (hard to charm)
43-46 Worker Crawler
43-47 Big Jaw - Aggro

West Altepa
PT 45-47 (D-9)[/lg]
40-44 Desert Spider
44-48 Desert Dhalmel (curaga special move, amazing for parties - even heals other pets!)
47-51 Desert Beetle

Crawler's Nest
PT 46-49 Rumble Crawlers[/lg]
45-47 Nest Beetle
45-47 Killer Mushroom
45-47 Doom Scorpion - Aggro
47-49 Soldier Crawler - Aggro
48-50 Soul Stinger - Aggro
49-51 Labyrinth Lizard - Aggro

Garlaige Citadel
PT Lv49-51 Basement[/lg]
43-45 Oil Spill - Aggro (slime, although lower level, possibly better than Citadel Bats? - Found up on the top floor)
46-48 Citadel Bats - Aggro (some right next to the standard camp)
51-55 Funnel Bats - Aggro

Crawler's Nest
PT 51-53 Helm Beetle[/lg]
49-51 Labyrinth Lizard - Aggro
50-52 Witch Hazel
50-53 Hornfly
51-54 Exoray - Aggro
52-54 Blazer Beetle - Aggro
53-55 Mushussu - Aggro
53-55 Rumble Crawler - Aggro

Crawler's Nest
PT Lv54-55 Knight Crawler[/lg]
52-54 Blazer Beetle - Aggro
53-55 Mushussu - Aggro
53-55 Rumble Crawler - Aggro
55-57 Wespe - Aggro
55-58 Dragonfly - Aggro

Gustav Tunnel
PT 56-62
45-48 Labyrinth Leech (TP attacks can help make up for low level)
46-49 Greater Gaylas
46-49 Labyrinth Lizard
46-49 Makara - Aggro

Commentarus:
All of these pets are pretty low level, you may find that a good DD jug will serve you better.

Kuftal Tunnel
PT 58-62 (I-6), Goblins and Raptors[/lg]
60-63 Robber Crab - Aggro
61-64 Sand Lizard

Sea Serpent Grotto
PT 59-63 Inside of Ornamental Door (need Sahagin Key to open!)[/lg]
55-58 Blubber Eyes - Aggro (Sic with low TP and it may cast a BLM spell - Hope for Burst and not Poisonga..)
57-60 Razorjaw Pugil - Aggro
62-67 Robber Crab - Aggro
62-65 Mousse - Aggro (hard to charm, really need to use light staff - but it is a slime, and we all know how great they are)
63-66 Dire Bat - Aggro

Commentarus:
I'm not too familiar with SSG, so some of these pets may be hiding behind other doors that you need various beastcoins to open - come prepared!

Upper Delkfutt's Tower
PT 60-62 Stairs to 12th Floor[/lg]
62-64 Incubus Bats - Aggro (two spawn at the bottom of the stairs, I think)

Attohwa Chasm
PT 60-62 (F-7)and(F-6) Caves.[/lg]
58-59 Tulwar Scorpion - Aggro (death scissors!)

Labyrinth of Onzozo
PT 61-63 Toramas[/lg]
51-57 Mushussu - Aggro (death scissors!)
55-59 Flying Manta - Aggro

Commentarus:
Both are pretty large pets, so try to keep them out of the way of any SATAs going on (and no, you can't land TA on a pet).

They were okay, but not better than FunguarFamiliar. They checked at the lower end of Decent Challenge to me at 60 sync.

The Boyahda Tree
PT 63-67 Waterfall leading to the Cloister, or tunnels at the bottom of the other waterfall[/lg]
60-63 Bark Spider
60-63 Death Cap
62-66 Moss Eater
62-66 Robber Crab - Aggro
62-67 Knight Crawler - Aggro
62-68 Mourioche (lots of potential linking, careful!)
64-66 Stygian Pugil - Aggro

Den of Rancor
PT 65-67 Cloister of Tides zoneline[/lg]
65-69 Succubus Bats - Aggro
64-65 Mousse - Aggro (it's a slime, usual warnings/whoops of joy apply)

Commentarus:
There are two areas of the Den of Rancor, one (this area) is only accessable by going through the Temple. For this reason some pets given here may not be reachable at the camp!

UpperClass reports using an EM Mousse as main tank in a 5 man exp party with good results (after their tank DC'd) - this requires a party very skilled in limting hate though. But the prospect of having a tank that needs no healing is certainly a pleasent one.

Gustav Tunnel
PT 65-68 Skeletons north of the popular goblin camp[/lg]
65-68 Robber Crab - Aggro (they like to hang around with the goblins, so charm with care!)

Commentarus:
Antares (77-79) is a scorpion that provides a fun way to show off the power of BST to your party (just try not to get them killed if you fail to charm). Whilst exping there as BLM, our party found Taxim, a NM skeleton and almost killed it (almost killed it three times, we need to learn lessons faster) - An Antares would help a lot in that fight ;]

The Boyahda Tree
PT Lv67-69 Elder Goobbue, or Flies/Spiders at Dragon's Aery zoneline[/lg]
62-67 Knight Crawler - Aggro
62-68 Mourioche (lots of potential linking, careful!)
64-66 Stygian Pugil - Aggro

Attohwa Chasm
PT 68-ish?
65-67 Sand Lizard
66-68 Cutlass Scorpion

Commentarus:
Suggested by Taverasme. I'm unsure where the camp is (not listed in AmbroseOdin's campsite guide), but looking at mob levels, would guess the targets are Arch Corse (75-81) and/or Cave Antlion (77-79). Some exploring is in order!

Kuftal Tunnel
PT 70-74 Behind the moving rock[/lg]
68-71 Diplopod - Aggro (one spawns on the path to Cape Terrigan and is generally considered to be great - are there any other spawn points?)
63-66 Recluse Spider - Aggro
64-67 Sabotender Sediendo - Aggro (cactuar type, so hard to charm - be sure to manage his TP so as not to risk 1,000 needles on a mischarm)
65-68 Deinonychus - Aggro (raptor type, so hard to charm)

Commentarus: UpperClass reports using EM/DC spiders, and only having EP Cactuars, so the levels given here may be innacurate.

The Pelican spawns here. Supposedly killable by four characters level 73-74, if you Familiared an Ovinnik (77-79 Tiger) your exp party could probably take it. It's a lot tougher than the Cockatrice though - Additional effect: Petrification would make it hard on your pet (Reward recast time being what it is).

Keep in mind when referencing this list that mob levels may have been adjusted on Nasomi. I was actually at the Torama camp in Labyrinth of Onzozo last night, and I tried the Mantas. They were okay, but not better than FunguarFamiliar. They checked at the lower end of Decent Challenge to me at 60 sync.

Is there a list somewhere the details the levels of mobs on Nasomi? I suspect not.

I am struggling a bit at 51 ,
Tried a few camps and the best i have found up to now is CN on witch hazel vs blazer beetles...

There is a nice spot in CN for them and can chain around 3 for 180exp.

Not sure if there is any place better at this level,

I remember in retail I used to charm snippers in Qufim and kill the Giant's pets. I can't remember what level is was at though. The pets are squishy with really low HP so easy to kill but still con T-IT.

So I don't recall when SE changed where BST does not take from party exp with jug pets, curious if that has been fixed on this server. Also curious if charming other monsters to assist the BST in a experience party affects party exp also? Just curious if BST's only option is leveling solo like the old school days.
