So I'm in the process of updating the game with over 5 hours of wait time. I plan on saving the temp files for future reinstalling, and I'm wondering... Has anyone done this already with the 12K files? I've seen previous uploads for multiple updates, but this is a fresh ultimate collection to today update. If not I'll work on archiving and uploading this so folks don't have to deal with such a long wait.

Edit - Mega option for those interested: https://mega.nz/#!SllwVaBI!mbzETzTZWByS ... 0y54WzHOD4

This is manually patching the client. People have a hard enough time updating normally, I'd rather not make it harder than necessary.

Yeah it's just copying and pasting the folders/files in. Playonline checks whats there, and then will download the last 20 something files(I stopped at 99%). All temp files are all in the appropriate folders so it's as easy as drag and drop, then follow the rest of the instructions provided by your notes. This will make it so the ffxi update will take a couple of minutes through that piece of crap pol instead of 5 hours.

I suppose this could still be helpful for veterans who need to reinstall and have no issues, but still want to save some time.

lol right? I get so infuriated when I have to deal with POL. Yesterday was worse cause my connection was inconsistent. So if I disconnected during the download process POL would recheck 30K files just to figure out where to continue..

Worked great, after copied Nas's update folder I copied this over it for good measure, then completed the rest of the steps, I'd say about 20 minutes from start to finish on brand new windows, and I was in game.

Should add this to your steps Nas, would help new players a lot.

Awesome to hear. :) Kinda goofed with the folders, but yeah I always tend to screw up somewhere no matter how small it may be. :P
